Eng Siang Ewe

Professional poker player Eng Siang Ewe aka Anson Ewe is a rising star from Malaysia. His live tournament performances are impressive given that Ewe has been on the circuit for a little over 2 years (as of this writing). In a short span he has cashed in 24 tournaments and has already breached the $ 1 Million milestone accruing $ 1,694,404 in live cash earnings. This places him in 14th place in Malaysia’s All Time Money List. The reason for this early achievement may be Eng Siang Ewe’s preference for the higher stakes events.

Eng Siang Ewe – Poker Achievements

The Malaysian player made his debut in April 2022 at the Super High Roller Series of the Triton Poker Cyprus Special Edition, $50,000 NLH Triton Event. Eng Siang Ewe finished 10th and cashed $99,000. Not bad for a maiden tournament play. He then went on a productive run from October 2022 through the following year in March 2023, making table finishes in Super High Roller Events at Poker Dream Vietnam (2022) and Poker Dream Malaysia (2023) to bank a total cash of $56,640. Ewe returned to the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Vietnam, going deep in two events adding a total of $131,400 more to his prize winnings.

In April 2023, Eng Siang Ewe finished second in the No Limit Short Deck Hold’em Ante Only Event of Poker Dream Manila for another 5-figure pay-out. In May of the same year, the Malaysian recorded his biggest live cash, again at a Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, this time in Cyprus, Kyrenia. Finishing 12th, Ewe collected a career high of $350,000. He quickly followed this up with a 3rd place finish in the Ante Only Event of the same tournament adding $143,000 more to his prize money. The best though was yet to come.

Career First Title

In June 2023, Eng Siang Ewe would bag his first career title, snatching the Single Day High Roller of the Poker Dream Taiwan. Ewe bested poker heavyweights to claim not only a title but his first trophy. Four days later, he would repeat a first-place finish at the NT$138,000 NL Short Deck Hold’em Single Day Ante Only Event. The Malaysian would make it a hat trick in August 2023 by bagging first place at the Poker Dream 6 Malaysia High Roller Event cashing $86,975. In the same month he would also tow a total of $147,000 in prize winnings making deep runs at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series London.

Eng Siang Ewe would prove consistent coming into 2024 making his second-best career live cash of $205,000, placing 9th at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju. Ewe would then take his fourth title at the Asian Poker Tour Jeju. In May, he would be back making good runs at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro accumulating a total cash of $157,000. There seems to no slowing down for Eng Siang Ewe with his high risk, high reward play.
