Japan’s Yuna Kanaizumi made an impressive debut at the Triton ONE festival by winning Event #3 – $5,000 NLH 8-Handed Mystery Bounty. The tournament drew a massive 836 entries, including 416 re-entries, at LES A Casino in Jeju Shinhwa World.

The event generated a $3,800,456 prize pool. Kanaizumi turned her $5,000 buy-in into $462,500, including $67,500 in bounty rewards, to claim her first major poker event. She started the final table with just 14 big blinds but steadily worked her way up and eventually defeated France’s Thi Xoa Nguyen in heads-up play.

Speaking about her win, Kanaizumi said,

I’m very excited, happy, and honoured.

This final table was also notable for being the first time an open Triton event featured a heads-up match between two women. Nguyen, who also finished 7th in Event #1 – $3,000 Triton ONE Genesis QQPK for $79,000, took home $240,000 including $15,000 in bounties.

Kanaizumi worked her way up the final table steadily, facing several strong players along the way. She doubled early through Chung Ching Cheung , holding pocket tens to beat his hand and gain momentum. Cheung was later eliminated in 9th place by Chih Wei Fan , who held queens against Cheung’s pocket jacks, earning Cheung $29,000 and collecting $22,500 in bounties.

Chuanshu Chen went out in 8th earning $37,000 including $10,000 in bounties after shoving ace-nine into Nguyen’s king-queen. Kirill Beketov finished 7th taking $52,056 along with an additional $22,500 in bounties after going all-in with ace-king into Kanaizumi’s king-queen. Thanh Pham Tien placed 6th cashing for $73,000 plus $22,500 in bounties after running queen-jack into Nguyen’s pocket aces. Fan ended in 5th for $99,000 with additional $25,000 in bounties, with pocket fours against Kanaizumi’s ace-two. Yunpeng Bai Yunpeng Bai was eliminated in 4th place, taking $127,000 in prize money and adding a sizable $97,500 in bounty rewards after losing to Kanaizumi’s two pair/full house with jack-four, and Elmer Kalaquian’s king-queen fell to Kanaizumi’s ace-jack, leaving him in 3rd place for $169,000 plus $27,500 in bounties.

The heads-up match featured two women, the first time this happened in an open Triton event. Kanaizumi held 106 big blinds compared to Nguyen’s 34 big blinds. On the final hand, Nguyen opened queen-two, and Kanaizumi called with ten-four. The board fell perfectly for Kanaizumi, giving her a full house and the tournament victory in less than four hours.

The Triton Poker Series returned to Jeju, South Korea, in March for the second-ever Triton ONE festival, followed by a stop on the Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju S5 2026 .

Triton ONE ran from March 5-15, 2026, with the Super High Roller Series taking place from March 14-April 1. Both events were held at the luxurious Les A Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World, previously known as the Landing Casino & Resort.
