WPT Prime Taiwan Full Schedule Revealed Feat. NT$ 50M+ In Guarantees

Since its initial announcement last year, the World Poker Tour has now confirmed its return to Taipei City with the recent release of the full schedule. Set to run from August 6 to 19, 2025, WPT Prime Taiwan will once again take place at the Asia Poker Arena and is in partnership with Taiwan poker pioneer Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club).

This will be the fourth consecutive visit of the brand’s flagship series to Taiwan, and with each iteration, the schedule expands slightly. This year is no exception, so let’s dive right into it.

WPT Prime Taiwan 2025

Browsing the schedule, WPT Prime Taiwan offers a total of 59 trophy events with buy-ins as low as NT$ 2,000 (~US$ 70) all the way up to a high roller figure of NT$ 250,000 (~US$ 8,430). This includes eight tournaments that feature guaranteed prize pools amounting to NT$ 50,500,000 approximately 1.7 Million in US dollars, all kicked off by a Freeroll To The NT$ 500K Opener. 

WPT Prime Championship Event

Chief among them is the brand’s crown jewel WPT Prime Championship Event which carries a  NT$ 30,000,000 (~US$ 1 Million) guarantee. Last year, this figure was utterly smashed by the 1,666 entries, amassing a prize pool of NT$ 50,925,500 with champion Jereld Sam awarded a career high NT$ 8,065,000 (~US$ 250K). That benchmark puts extra pressure on this year’s field, but with the boosted lineup and 48 seats guaranteed via satellites, a strong turnout is once again expected.

Aside from a mountain of cash to the champion, entry to the 2025 World Championships worth US$ 10,400 will also be awarded (taken from the prize pool). WPT value adds accommodation.

Side Event Highlights

WPT side events are just as popular as the majors, especially at the deep stacked events such as the Mini Superstack Classic Freezeout, Megastack, Deepstack Hyper, Mini Championship Freezeout, Supestack Classic, and Deepstack 6 Max. There is also a Ladies Event, Seniors Event, and Teams Event however these do not earn points towards the Player Of The Festival.
