WPT EveryOne for One Drop underway at Wynn Las Vegas – $10,500 buy in for a shot at $10,000,000 – July 9-14, 2023
As the halls of Horseshoe Las Vegas mark a significant occasion, another historic moment unfolds at Wynn Las Vegaswhere the World Poker Tour is hosting the WPT EveryOne for One Drop. In collaboration with the One Drop Charity Foundation, this tournament is the first of two events preceding the highly anticipated return of the Big One for One Drop featuring a buy-in of $1,000,000.
Announced in May, the Big One for One Drop has found a new home in the WPT with the historic event slated to take place in December during the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas. WPT CEO, Adam Pliska said in the press release,
“The Big One for One Drop is such an iconic tournament in the world of poker. We are honored to put on this incredible event in conjunction with the One Drop Foundation and Wynn Las Vegas. The $1 million buy-in is a testament to the heights this industry can reach and the continuous evolution of the World Poker Tour.”
Prior to the Big One for One Drop are two charity events taking place at the Wynn Las Vegas – WPT EveryOne for One Drop from July 9 to 14 and the WPT Alpha8 for One Drop from July 14 to 16. Click the link below for a detailed look at the structures.
WPT EveryOne for One Drop
Currently underway is the WPT EveryOne for One Drop with a $10,500 buy in and a substantial $10,000,000 guarantee. Players have plenty of chances to jump in with three starting days offered and one re-entry allowed per day. Event runs from July 9 to 14. For every buy in, $200 goes to the foundation whose prime objective is to bring sustainable access to water to communities in need.
During the first break, WPT commentator Vince Van Patten and WPT anchor Lynn Gilmartin delivered a welcome speech thanking everyone behind the scenes, dealers, and all the players for supporting the One Drop Foundation.
Among the players in the field was WPT Prime Championship winner Stephen Song who was in a tough spot against Haruna Fujita when we got to his table.
With a buy in that high, the creme de la creme of the poker world dominated in numbers: David Peters, Espen Jorstad, Erik Seidel, Joe McKeehen, Adrien Mateos, Isaac Haxton, Mikita Badziakouski, Justin Bonomo,WPT Ambassador Brad Owen, and WPT triple crown champion Darren Elias to mention a few. There was also a light scatter of Asian players: Kitty Kuo, Rintaro Kagawa, Lun Loon, and Danny Tang.

WPT Alpha8 for One Drop
At the heels of the first event is the WPT Alpha8 for One Drop tournament which opens on July 14 and runs through July 16. Buy in is a larger $111,000 with $7,000 per entry going the One Drop Foundation. Expect a tight field of world class pros for this event.
