WPT Cyprus 2026: Side Event Winners Crowned as Championship Nears Final Table

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is closing in on the finish line at WPT Cyprus 2026 , with the $3,500 WPT Cyprus Championship now into its closing days at the Chamada Prestige Hotel and Casino in Cyprus . Running from August 12-24, the festival has already crowned winners across a full side event schedule, with the $2 million guaranteed Championship set to wrap with its final table tomorrow. Here’s a look at the series so far.

Side Event Winners
The build-up to the Championship produced a string of results across the festival’s side event schedule. Bulgaria’s Yasen Dichev took down the Bounty K.O NLH for $6,200 from a 63-entry field, while the United States’ Alexandru Matei won the No Re-Entry Event for $18,800. Germany’s Paul Esau topped a 164-entry field in the Take-off to bank $36,000.

Portugal’s Bernardo Das Neves claimed the Mystery Bounty for $57,100, the biggest side-event score of the week so far, while France’s Laurent Besnainou won the Bomb Pot (Double Board) for $21,400. Georgia’s Vazha Kometiani took the Monster Stack NLH for $26,300, Turkey’s Mert Hadioglu won the Speed-Up NLH K.O. for $5,300, and Germany’s Kai Henrik Prigann topped the Mixed Games event for $18,400.

Davit Mikhanashvili Wins the Chamada High Roller
The festival’s other marquee event, the $5,300 Chamada High Roller, reached its conclusion on August 19. Georgia’s Davit Mikhanashvili came out on top for $123,200, the standout individual score of the festival so far outside the Championship itself.

WPT Cyprus Championship Heads Into Its Final Stretch
The $3,500 WPT Cyprus Championship got underway on August 19 across three starting flights, carrying its $2 million guarantee toward a livestreamed final table.
