WPT Australia 2026 is officially underway at The Star Sydney , with three weeks of tournament poker running from September 10-30.

The 36-event festival starts with the AUD 1,150 Australian Poker Cup, the first of three major events that will headline the World Poker Tour ‘s return to Sydney.

The Australian Poker Cup will be followed by the AUD 1,500 WPT Prime Australia Championship and the AUD 5,000 WPT Australia Championship, which will bring the series to a close, with Somuchpoker providing live reporting from all three events.

Australian Poker Cup Kicks Off WPT Australia 2026

The AUD 1,150 Australian Poker Cup gets the festival underway, running from September 10-14 at The Star Sydney, and will feature three starting flights with 30-minute blind levels. Once Day 2 is reached, blind levels increase to 45 minutes for the remainder of the tournament, with the official prize pool and payouts announced shortly before the start of the second day of play.

Somuchpoker’s attention will then turn to the AUD 1,500 WPT Prime Australia Championship, which runs from September 17-22. The Prime Australia Championship will feature four starting flights with 40-minute levels, before increasing to 60-minute levels for Days 2 and 3.

The festival then builds toward the pinnacle event of the series, the AUD 5,000 WPT Australia Championship, which runs from September 24-30. The tournament features three opening flights with 60-minute blind levels, before increasing to 90 minutes for Days 2, 3 and 4, then returning to 60-minute levels for the final day.

For the first time, WPT Australia features a Main Tour Championship and WPT Prime Championship at the same festival, with the final-table action from both events set to be livestreamed on a delay, giving viewers around the world the chance to follow the action.

36 Events on the WPT Australia 2026 Schedule

While the Australian Poker Cup, WPT Prime Australia Championship and WPT Australia Championship headline the series, players have 36 events to choose from across the three weeks.

The schedule includes PLO, bounty and other formats across a range of buy-ins, with the AUD 500 Ladies Australian Championship, AUD 10,000 WPT Australia High Roller, Mystery Bounty and Australian PLO Championship among the other major events.

A total of nine WPT World Championship tickets will also be awarded during the festival, and players can find every tournament, buy-in and starting time on the full schedule page .
