WPT Cambodia Passport to the World Championship 2026: Day 2 Recap

Action accelerated on Day 2 of the WPT Cambodia Passport to the World Championship 2026 at the NagaWorld integrated resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The second day of the festival saw six champions crowned, including the conclusion of the opening SuperStack, a high-roller title decision, and two fast-paced side events reaching their finish lines inside the main ballroom.

Viacheslav Zotov Captures NagaWorld SuperStack Title

The festival's opening marquee event, Event #1: NAGAWORLD SUPERSTACK ($350), reached its conclusion as the final 10 players returned to battle out of a 123-entry field.

Although Lebanon's Abbouchi Mohamad entered the final day with the chip lead (1,110,000), but it was Russia's Viacheslav Zotov who stormed through the final table to capture the trophy and the $9,671 first-place prize.

Zotov defeated France's Mickael Taillepierre heads-up for the title, with Taillepierre earning $5,988 as runner-up. Germany's Thomas Scheld finished third for $3,924, while start-of-day chip leader Mohamad ultimately departed in seventh place ($1,599).

Dong Lyu Claims Deepstack High Roller Victory

High-stakes competitors took center stage on Day 2 in Event #7: Deepstack High Roller ($1,650). The high-tier tournament brought together an array of regional high rollers and visiting professionals competing for a prestigious trophy and substantial payouts.

Minh Thang Tran was the unfortunate bubble of the Deepstack HR after calling all in with his remaining stack holding pocket fours against Micheal O’Neill’s king-nine. Tran was safe on the flop and turn, but the river brought a king, giving O’Neill the winning pair and eliminating Tran on the bubble.

China's Dong Lyu put on a dominant performance against a stacked field to outlast all contenders and claim the High Roller title.

Players competing in the high-roller field enjoyed full complimentary access to the dedicated VIP Lounge right outside the tournament area throughout their breaks.

Side Event Champions

In Event #5: Freezeout, classical single-entry tournament poker drew a competitive field of players battling through to the final table before crowning a new trophy winner: Tomoyuki Maeda.

Meanwhile, fast-paced action took over late in the day in Event #8: 20/20/20/20 (20 Sec), where strict shot-clock dynamics kept players under pressure through every street before awarding another WPT side event title. Kevin Owen Meng won, denying Viacheslav Zotov second trophy of the day.

The morning kicked off early with high-speed action in Event #M1: Early Bird Megastack 30 Sec ($250). France's Benoit Michel Aristide handled the quick 15-minute levels and 30-second shot clock best, navigating through the field to secure the win and gain his first trophy of the festival.

Event #9 HYPER TURBO BOUNTY 15 SEC: Russian player Nail Aberkhaev defeated Shixiang Khoo and got the the first trophy in his poker career.

Looking Ahead to Day 3 at NagaWorld

Action at NagaWorld ramps up further on Day 3 with the launch of the flagship $550 Championship Warm Up ($75,000 GTD) starting flights, alongside the single-day 6-Max High Roller ($1,650 Buy-In) and the final restart of the PLO Mini Championship.
