Day 1 of the WPT Cambodia Passport to the World Championship 2026 at luxurious NagaWorld in Phnom Penh, Cambodia got off to a busy start, with three trophies awarded and the opening NagaWorld SuperStack advancing to its final 10 players.

NagaWorld SuperStack

The first event of the festival, the $350 NagaWorld SuperStack, drew 123 entries (93 unique players) building a $37,195 total prize pool and played through 21 levels. With 17 places paid, the field reached the bubble with Jinwei Liao the unfortunate player to miss out on the money.

Jinwei Liao – NagaWorld Superstack Bubble

Liao moved all in with ace-queen against Mickael Taillepierre’s king-eight. The flop gave Liao a queen and put him in a strong position, but the turn brought one of Taillepierre’s three outs when a king appeared. The river missed Liao, making him the sole bubble finisher.

Play continued through the end of Level 21, leaving 10 players still in contention. Abbouchi Mohamad leads the field with 1,110,000 chips. Play resumes today at 11:30 AM, with the remaining players continuing until a champion is crowned.

Pek Loy Kwan Wins 5 Card PLO

The first trophy of the festival went to Pek Loy Kwan , who outlasted a 39-entry field to win Event #2 5 Card PLO .

Kwan and Sokmeng Hun reached heads-up and agreed to a deal that saw both players take home $2,679. Kwan held the larger stack when the deal was made and was awarded the trophy, while the event generated a $9,922 prize pool.

Kwan shared that he mainly plays PLO events, making this his third PLO trophy of the year. He will return today for the PLO Mini Championship.

Hyunkyou Park Claims 6-Max Megastack Turbo

South Korea’s Hyunkyou Park secured his first WPT trophy, earning $2,851 after outlasting an 11-entry field to win Event #3 6-Max Megastack Turbo . The event generated a $4,752 prize pool, with Park defeating Japan’s Daiki Takeda heads-up.

Park shared that he regularly travels to NagaWorld for WPT and APPT events, with this marking his fourth visit since turning professional in 2023.

Peng Wang Wins Big Bounty Hyper Turbo

The final event of the day, Event #4 SuperStack Big Bounty Hyper Turbo, finished late after attracting 35 entries and building a $7,392 prize pool, including a $3,500 bounty pool.

Peng Wang took the biggest share, collecting $1,402 for the win, not including any bounties earned.

Day 2 at NagaWorld

Day 2 continues today with the remaining NagaWorld SuperStack players returning at 11:30 AM. The PLO Mini Championship also begins, with Day 1A at 11:30 AM and Day 1B at 4:30 PM, with both flights playing down to the money.

For the high rollers, the Deepstack High Roller features a $1,650 buy-in and will play through to the champion. A VIP Lounge will also be available just outside the tournament area, offering high roller players complimentary food and drinks during breaks.

With the first three trophies already awarded, another full day of action awaits at NagaWorld.
