WPT Cambodia Championship Set To Break Records This February
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is gearing up for the new season with the largest-ever festival on Asian soil. Spanning across three weekends from February 6 to 24, 2025, the upcoming WPT Cambodia Championship is a lock for everyone’s live poker calendar.
WPT Cambodia Championship Promos Extended
According to WPT Live Event specialist Danny McDonagh, the hotel reservations at NagaWorld Integrated Resorts in the capital city of Phnom Penh have reached 200 individual bookings for 2,500 nights, which already eclipses last year’s festival – with just under three weeks to go until the start!
Since the festival announcement, WPT launched several hotel promotions that inculde the High Roller and Marathon packages. These packages have now exceeded 90% of the allocated rooms. Due to the overwhelming demand, WPT has extended registration deadline of these packages, along with the Early Bird package , until January 31.
Flagship Events And Other Highlights
So, what is all the fuss about, and which tournaments should one look for during the upcoming series?
The two flagship tournaments, of course. WPT Prime Championship $1,100 runs from February 14 to 18 and comes with a $750,000 guarantee, followed by WPT Cambodia Championship $3,500 that takes place from February 19 to 24 and comes with a $1,500,000 guarantee.
Poker enthusiasts will also have the unique chance to etch their name into the World Poker Tour history books, as the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup will be back in Cambodia for the second time in as many years.
Other notable tournaments include the Championship Warm-Up ($150k guaranteed), the highly popular Mystery Bounty ($200k guaranteed), 8-Max Survivor Bounty, Mystery Bounty High Roller $3K buy-in, High Roller $5K ($200k guaranteed), and Mini Championship ($200k guaranteed).

WPT Player Of The Festival Prizes Raised to $10,000
In total, there are 63 tournaments on the schedule, and all are eligible to earn points for the WPT Player of the Festival Leaderboard; only satellites are excluded. The respective points in each event are based on the total prize pool and the buy-in category.
One year ago, Jinlong Hu from China earned the most points across 44 trophy events in Phnom Penh and earned the WPT Prime Championship seat as well as $1,500 in spending money. The top three earned a share of $6,000, which has now been bumped by nearly 50 percent. In the 2025 edition, $10,000 in prizes are up for grabs, the largest tally in Asia to date. The prizes will be split as follows among the top three leaderboard finishers:
- 1st Place: $5,000 ($1,100 WPT Prime Championship 2025 seat + $3,900 in spending cash)
- 2nd Place: $3,000 ($1,100 WPT Prime Championship 2025 seat + $1,900 in spending cash)
- 3rd Place: $2,000 ($1,100 WPT Prime Championship 2025 seat + $900 in spending cash)
The 2025 WPT Prime Championship is slated to take place at the Wynn in Las Vegas in the weeks before Christmas. This season-ender has taken place three times and attracted massive fields in every edition.
With just under three weeks to go, it is not too late to make travel plans to Cambodia. The Phnom Penh International Airport has many direct flights from major Asian cities, and it’s only a short ride to the city center, where the world-class integrated resort at NagaWorld awaits.
