WPT Cambodia 2027 Brings Asia’s Longest-Ever Poker Festival to NagaWorld From January 12-February 2 With $2M+ in Guarantees

WPT Cambodia 2027 is set to bring the longest poker festival in Asia to NagaWorld in Phnom Penh, with 22 days of tournament poker running from January 12 to February 2.

The full schedule is now revealed, with more than $2 million in guaranteed prizes alongside accommodation packages, free rooms for High Rollers, exclusive WPT hotel rates, and a Telegraphic Transfer (TT) funds option for players who want to transfer their tournament funds in advance, and no tax on poker winnings in Cambodia.

If you are looking at spending a good part of January in Cambodia for poker, there is quite a bit to consider beyond the two headline tournaments. Here is what players need to know before making the trip.

WPT Cambodia 2027 Full Schedule Revealed

The main tournament schedule is built around two major events.

First up is the WPT Cambodia Prime, running January 22 to 26 with a $1,100 buy-in and $500,000 guarantee.

That is followed by the WPT Cambodia Championship from January 27 to February 1. The flagship event carries a $3,500 buy-in and $1 million guarantee, and it will also open WPT Season 25, making its winner the first WPT Champion of the new season.

One detail worth looking at closely is the Championship fee. The event carries a $225 admin fee, which is around 6.4% of the $3,500 buy-in. That is well below the 10% fee commonly seen at major live poker events across Asia.

The structure is another part of the Championship that stands out. Levels run for 90 minutes from Day 2 all the way through Heads Up, putting it in the same conversation structurally as the $10,400 WPT World Championship.

There is also something new for players who do not want to play only No-Limit Hold'em. The festival has added a new Omaha and Mixed Games series following player feedback, giving mixed-game players a bigger part of the schedule this time around.

No Tax on Poker Winnings in Cambodia

When playing poker overseas, players may have to deal with taxes on their tournament winnings, with a portion of the payout potentially taken before they even get their money.

That is not the case in Cambodia. Poker players can take home their winnings without a tax cut, allowing them to keep more of what they earn at the tables.

For international players, that can make a real difference. A big tournament score stays a big tournament score, with no tax deduction eating into the payout.

It is another player-friendly advantage to consider when choosing where to play, especially for those traveling abroad for major poker festivals.

Hotel Discounts at NagaWorld

NagaWorld consistently offers the lowest nightly rates of any poker tour. Special room rates for WPT Cambodia players start at just $55 per night. Players can choose between a NagaWorld 2 Superior Room for $55 per night or a NagaWorld 1 Deluxe Room for $105 per night.

Beyond the room rates, the convenience of staying within the NagaWorld complex is another advantage for players, with the poker room, hotel, restaurants, entertainment, and other amenities all in one location.

Korean player Min Ho Cho, who has attended WPT Cambodia three times, said he has always enjoyed his time in Phnom Penh and feels comfortable returning to the hotel after late tournament sessions.

“This will be my third time coming to WPT Cambodia. I always enjoy the great poker tournaments provided by WPT, and I always feel safe when I walk back to my hotel at night. Phnom Penh has been one of the most fun and safe cities I have experienced. I can’t wait to come back for the three-week tour next January at NagaWorld.”

Fellow Korean player Seunghyun Seo also highlighted his positive experience at the NagaWorld complex, from the services and food to the range of entertainment available between tournament sessions.

“I always enjoy WPT tournaments in Cambodia. The NagaWorld was very safe and offered great service. The food, massages, and entertainment were all excellent. I never felt unsafe, and I would like to share my good experiences of WPT Cambodia with all my friends.”

For players planning to spend several weeks at WPT Cambodia 2027, having the poker room, hotel, restaurants, entertainment, and other amenities within the same NagaWorld complex makes the trip easy and convenient.

Ari Engel, the WPT Cambodia Passport to the World Championship Main Event champion with over $10 million in career earnings, highlighted the overall affordability of playing at NagaWorld.

“The main thing I like about poker stops is the actual poker, so it's great. The costs here at NagaWorld are also very low compared to some of the other stops I go to. The hotel is good, the food is great, I love Cambodian food. I didn't really have it before I came here, but I'm really enjoying it. It's a nice atmosphere, good poker, and relatively cheap. I don't make good long-term plans, so I don't know where I'll be a few weeks from now, but I'd like to come back in January.”

That is also one of the practical advantages of staying at NagaWorld. The tournament tables, hotel rooms, restaurants, and other facilities are all in the same resort complex, which means less time spent figuring out where to go between sessions.

For a long poker trip, those small conveniences can matter.

Free Room for High Rollers

NagaWorld is rolling out a pretty sweet deal for high roller players — basically, you can get your hotel room completely covered just by playing in their high-stakes events.

Here is how the High Roller Room Promotion works: when you check in at the hotel, you put down a refundable deposit to cover your stay. That deposit starts at as low as $105 for a single night. From there, every time you buy in or re-enter a qualifying tournament, you simply swipe your membership card to earn room credits.

All tournaments with a buy-in of $1,650 or more qualify for the High Roller Room Promotion. Check the graphic above for the complete list of eligible events, with the $15,000 Super High Roller awarding double room credits.

If you want to grab a room and take advantage of the deal, head over to the official NagaWorld booking platform and make sure to apply the promo code HR27 upon booking.

12-Night Marathon Package

The package also comes with $200 in tournament credit for players who pre-deposit $4,600 at the venue Treasury Counter before January 22, 2027. The deposit secures non-refundable Day 1A entries for both Event #46 – $1,100 WPT Cambodia 2027 Prime and Event #67 – $3,500 WPT Cambodia 2027 Championship.

William Tjokroprawiro, who came to NagaWorld for WPT Cambodia 2026 and returned for the WPT Cambodia Passport to the World Championship, pointed to the convenience of having everything within the same complex.

“NagaWorld is a very good resort and a very good casino. I think you don't really need to go outside if you're staying here because there are a lot of food choices. Everything is here at NagaWorld.”

Ibrail Khan had a similar experience during his stay, sharing that he ended up staying longer than originally planned. “It's just been a pleasant experience from the town to the poker to the NagaWorld.”

Cashless Buy-In Option

Telegraphic Transfer (TT)
Telegraphic Transfer (TT)

One of the challenges for players, especially High Rollers, is bringing enough cash for tournament buy-ins when travelling to an event. To make things easier, NagaWorld offers a direct Telegraphic Transfer (TT) option, allowing players to send their funds in advance.

The minimum transfer amount is US$10,000, with bank processing taking around 5–7 business days. After making the transfer, players need to email their transfer receipt and passport photo page to [email protected].

For full details and transfer instructions, visit the NagaWorld website.

NagaWorld Cash Game Action

Once the tournament action wraps up, players can keep playing at the cash-game tables just a few meters from the tournament tables, all within the same poker venue. NagaWorld offers 24/7 cash-game action, with stakes ranging from No-Limit Hold’em $1/$3 up to $25/$50, as well as Pot-Limit Omaha 4 and 5.

The room also offers competitive rake rates, giving players the option to jump into a cash game after busting a tournament, while waiting for the next session or Day 2, or simply looking to keep playing and build their bankroll between events.

Dakota Anderson

Dakota Anderson, who has spent plenty of time playing poker around Asia, said the cash games are a big part of what works for him at the venue.

“The cash games at NagaWorld have relatively good rake, and there’s a lot of action. So, they complement the tournaments really well.”

Khan also compared the NagaWorld setup with the cash games he is used to back home in Australia.

“The rake is lower than Australia. The setup is excellent, the dealers are professional, and the restaurants and cafes are amazing. The food quality is really good.”

For anyone planning a longer stay, that combination of tournament poker and round-the-clock cash games is useful. You can arrive for the festival with a tournament schedule in mind and still have a game available when the tournament tables are done for the day.
