WPT Australia 2026: Feltham, Fazzino and Peng Win as Championship Begins

The past two days of WPT Australia 2026 have seen three more champions crowned at The Star Sydney , with the festival now heading into its final week.

Cooper Feltham brought the WPT Prime Championship to a close on Tuesday, while Salvatore Fazzino added his second title of the festival in the Double Trouble.

Wednesday then belonged to Shou-chi Peng, who took down the Mystery Bounty after overcoming a 355-entry field, while the AUD 10,000 WPT Aus High Roller and Croc Hunter Bounty also got underway.

Attention now turns to the pinnacle event of the festival, with the AUD 5,000 WPT Australia Championship beginning Thursday, September 24, with the first of three starting flights.

Cooper Feltham Wins WPT Prime Australia Championship

Feltham completed his victory in the WPT Prime Championship title, defeating Ling Liu heads-up following a lengthy final table, where he started the day sixth in chips.

The Australian collected AUD 187,793 following a heads-up deal, while Liu took home AUD 161,127. The Championship attracted 1,036 entries and generated an AUD 1,346,800 prize pool.

Liu had fought back from a huge heads-up deficit and even moved into the chip lead, putting herself in position to become the first female WPT Prime champion in WPT history. Feltham recovered, however, eventually making a wheel on the river of the final hand to seal the trophy.

Salvatore Fazzino Becomes Third Two-Time WPT Australia Winner

While the Prime Championship was playing to a conclusion, Fazzino was busy adding another trophy to his collection in the AUD 460 Double Trouble .

A total of 86 entries created an AUD 34,400 prize pool, with 13 players making the money.

Fazzino came out on top for AUD 9,638, defeating Conor Ceddia heads-up. Ceddia collected AUD 6,427, while Nathan Barnes completed the podium in third for AUD 4,364.

The victory made Fazzino the third player to become a two-time champion at WPT Australia 2026 .

His first trophy had arrived just two days earlier in the AUD 680 Single Shot Deep Freeze , where he topped 122 entries to earn AUD 18,402.

Shou-chi Peng Wins WPT Australia Mystery Bounty

The AUD 1,350 Mystery Bounty reached its conclusion on Wednesday after attracting 355 entries across its two starting flights.

Shou-chi Peng emerged on top, collecting AUD 58,521 for first place before adding another AUD 13,200 in mystery bounties to take his total haul from the tournament to AUD 71,721. Travis Endersby finished runner-up for AUD 38,901, with Xiangxi Zheng taking third for AUD 28,586.

Peng may have secured the trophy, but the biggest single mystery bounty went elsewhere. Michel Bouskila pulled the AUD 40,000 top bounty before eventually finishing 10th for a further AUD 5,553.

WPT Aus High Roller and Croc Hunter Head Into Final Day

Two more tournaments also got underway on Wednesday and will crown their champions today.

The AUD 10,000 WPT Aus High Roller attracted 72 entries, with 11 places set to be paid and just under AUD 200,000 awaiting the eventual champion. The remaining High Roller contenders return at 11:45 a.m. to play down to a winner.

Day 1 of the AUD 900 Croc Hunter Bounty also took place on Wednesday, with the tournament returning for its final day at 11:30 a.m.

WPT Australia Championship Takes Center Stage at The Star Sydney

As two more champions prepare to be crowned, the biggest tournament of WPT Australia 2026 gets underway today.

The AUD 5,000 WPT Australia Championship is the flagship event of the festival and will run through September 30, with Day 1a beginning at 12:30 p.m. today.

It is the first of three starting flights, with Day 1b following at 12:30 p.m. on Friday before the third and final opportunity, Day 1c, gets underway at the same time on Saturday.

Players begin with 50,000 chips and play 60-minute levels throughout the opening flights. Registration remains available until the start of Level 11 at roughly 11 p.m., giving players plenty of time to enter or re-enter the action.

Those who progress through the opening flights will combine for Day 2 on Sunday, before the field continues toward the final table and the crowning of the 2026 WPT Australia Championship winner on Wednesday, September 30.

The Championship is the most sought-after title of the 21-day festival and follows the Australian Poker Cup and WPT Prime Championship as the third and final major championship event receiving full Somuchpoker live coverage.
