WPT Australia 2026 Day 10: Rob Damelian Makes It Two

Another day of action at WPT Australia 2026 produced the festival’s first two-time champion, with Rob Damelian collecting his second boomerang trophy at The Star Sydney .

Damelian once again had to do things the hard way, mounting a huge comeback heads-up to deny David Hirst and win the AUD 460 Bonzai Bounty.

Elsewhere, the WPT Prime Championship continued with its biggest starting flight yet. Day 1c attracted 249 entries, with Sasha Skalrud bagging a massive 985,000 to take over the overall lead with just one flight remaining.

Rob Damelian Wins Second WPT Australia 2026 Trophy

Damelian became the first player to win two trophies at WPT Australia 2026 after taking down the AUD 460 Bonzai Bounty on Saturday, September 19.

The one-day event drew 117 entries, with 17 players making the money. Damelian collected AUD 7,631 for the victory, adding another boomerang trophy to the one he claimed just two days earlier in the Outback Survivor Bounty .

Damelian had already battled back from a huge chip deficit to win his first title of the series, and history repeated itself against Hirst. Once again facing an uphill task with the trophy on the line, Damelian mounted another monumental comeback, helped a little by Lady Luck, before finally overcoming his opponent to add another trophy to his mantelpiece.

Hirst had to settle for AUD 4,986 in second place, narrowly missing out on his own first trophy of the festival. It was another good result after his third-place finish in the Australian Poker Cup earlier in the series.

Chang Yoo completed the podium for AUD 3,483, while Kamran Samimi and Gening Dai rounded out the top five.

Sasha Skalrud Takes Overall Lead After Biggest WPT Prime Flight

The WPT Prime Championship also continued on Saturday, with Day 1c becoming the largest of the opening flights so far.

A total of 249 entries were recorded in the third flight, surpassing the 235 from Day 1a and 223 from Day 1b. After another day’s grind, just 32 players remained.

Skalrud emerged with an enormous 985,000, not only topping Day 1c but also moving into the overall tournament lead ahead of Sunday’s final starting flight.

He opened up a sizeable gap over the rest of the field, with Ehsan Amiri the closest to him from Day 1c after advancing with 687,000.

Ken Demlakian was close behind on 667,000, while Vincent Green-Gibson and Jin Xue also finished the night above the 600,000 mark.

Several familiar faces from earlier in the festival also progressed. Filip Radic, who finished fourth in the Australian Poker Cup and narrowly missed the podium, advanced with 464,000, while Tolly Sakellariou bagged 455,000.

With the first three flights now complete, the WPT Prime Championship has attracted 707 entries, while 97 players have already secured seats for Day 2. One final starting flight remains before the survivors return on Monday.

What’s Happening at WPT Australia Today?

Three tournaments are on the schedule for Sunday, September 20, headed by the fourth and final starting flight of the WPT Prime Championship .

Day 1d gets underway at 12:30 p.m., giving players one final opportunity to join the 97 qualifiers already through to Day 2.

The day’s action begins earlier at 10:30 a.m. with Event #17, the AUD 460 Bondi Beach Boy . The one-day event starts players with 25,000 chips and features 20-minute levels.

Later in the afternoon, Event #18, the AUD 580 Single Shot Deep Freeze , begins at 3:30 p.m.. Players receive a 50,000 starting stack, with levels again lasting 20 minutes.
