World Poker Tour Announces WPT Cambodia Main Tour Series This Coming July 2020

Great news for players across the Asia-Pacific region! Amidst the Coronavirus outbreak and various events cancelling here and there, it seems that the poker industry is beginning to take light as schedules start to line up for the next couple of months.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) just announced yesterday, February 24, 2020, the premiere WPT Main Tour event to be held at NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia this coming July.

This festival will open Season XIX of the World Poker Tour and will be the first Main Tour event to be held in the Asia-Pacific region since Season XII.

The full series will run from July 15 – July 28, 2020 with the Main Event starting on the 21st. Presently, poker series held in the region are gaining attention from many international players as great turnouts as well as surpassed prize pool guarantees have been evident in past events.

The first ever WPT event held in Phnom Penh November of last year, featured a record-breaking turnout of 750 entries for the Main Event, creating a total prize pool of US$ 727,500 with only a buy-in of US$ 1,100.

WPT Cambodia 2020 Schedule

WPT Cambodia will host a total of 26 events spread throughout the 14-day period with buy-ins ranging from US$ 200 to US$ 15,000. The festival will open with the NagaWorld Billions Event with a buy-in of US$ 550, followed by the WPT Cambodia Main Event for US$ 3,500 and the Mini Main Event for US$ 1,100. Other featured events include the High Roller Championship with a buy-in of US$ 10,000 and the Short Deck High Roller Championship for a higher buy-in of US$ 15,000.

In addition to this, the 1st place winner for the Main Event will receive an entry into the WPT Tournament of Champions worth US$ 15,000, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas at the end of Season XIX while the 2nd and 3rd place recipients will each collect a US$ 3,500 entry into the WPT NagaWorld Asia Pacific Championship Main Event on May 2021.

Later this year, players are welcome to venture to Cambodia again as the Season XIX WPT DeepStacks Cambodia is scheduled on dates 11 – 24 November, 2020 at NagaWorld Integrated Resort.

To close out the WPT APAC schedule in Season XIX, the inaugural WPT NagaWorld Asia-Pacific Championship festival will take place from May 5-18, 2021.

Those in the running for WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year and eager to win the first place prize of a US$10,000 WPT Passport, are eligible to gain points throughout the events.
