World Poker Federation Announces Inaugural WPF Asian Nations Cup in Taipei

The World Poker Federation (WPF) proudly announces the launch of the first-ever WPF Asian Nations Cup, host by Asian Poker Sports Association (APSA) , to be held in Taipei, Taiwan from October 21–25, 2025 at the prestigious Asia Poker Arena. This historic event marks the beginning of a new chapter for poker in Asia, celebrating the game as a recognized Mind Sport under the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA).

The WPF Asian Nations Cup 2025 will bring together national teams from across Asia to compete in a prestigious international format. Each nation will be represented by its best players, showcasing both skill and teamwork on one of the region’s most prominent stages.

Event Highlights

• National Team Competition: Countries will compete for the honor of being crowned the first-ever Asian Nations Cup Champion.
• Individual Awards: In addition to team glory, outstanding players will be recognized with Best Male Player and Best Female Player awards, proudly supported by official sponsors.
• Historic Significance: This is the first WPF Nations Cup globally, establishing a model for future continental and world-level competitions.

WPF Ladies Weekends – WPF Ladies Championship

Following the Nations Cup, the WPF will also present the WPF Ladies Weekend – WPF Ladies Championship from October 23–24, 2025. With a buy-in of NTD $8,000 and a guaranteed prize pool of NTD $1,000,000, this global ladies’ event will celebrate women in poker, providing a competitive platform that highlights their growing influence and achievements in the sport.

“This is more than just a tournament – it is a milestone for poker in Asia,” said Raymond Wong – APSA Secretary General. “The Nations Cup will unite countries under the spirit of competition and sportsmanship, while the Ladies Championship demonstrates our commitment to inclusivity and the growth of the game worldwide.”

The WPF Asian Nations Cup and WPF Ladies Championship are proudly supported by leading regional partners, including the Taiwan Millions Tournament Championship (TMT Championship), Asian Poker Tour (APT), and Asia Poker League (APL), whose sponsorships help make these prestigious awards possible.

Meantime, the TMT Championship will take place from October 17–27, 2025. Alongside the inaugural WPF Asian Nations Cup and the global WPF Ladies Weekend, this festival will also serve as a remarkable opportunity to showcase Taiwan to teams from across Asia, highlighting not only the growth of poker, but also Taiwan’s strength in sports and tourism
