Day 2 of the USOP Grand Finale Main Event kicks off at 12pm at the Pullman Grand Hotel in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The goal is to reach the final table however with such an enormous field, there is a high chance of bagging up well before that target.
Leading the way is Flight B chip leader Choi Hun Tae whose big stack of 1,228,000 stood tall after the final two flights. Rounding out the top three are Yankai Zhang (1,214,000) and Pham Tien Dung (1,151,000).

Flight C and D Recap
The last two flights of the Main Event ran on Saturday, December 7 with Flight C first on the floor. From the get-go, players crowded the registration area that by the first two hours there were well over 300 entries. This quickly doubled in the next two hours and by the close of late reg, it amassed a record breaking 739 entries. This was the largest USOP Main Event flight in history. USOP commentator Noel Zarate confirmed the record turnout in a brief announcement.
Flight C wrapped up at the fall of Tran Van Hung on a flip with big slick missing the board against Guo Zhanxi’s pocket Tens. Out of the 92 remaining players, emerging as flight leader was Mai Nguyen with 1,150,000 in chips. Nguyen collected from Jinlong Hu late in the day to slide into the top spot. She will enter Day 2 ranked 4th in chips.
Flight D also pulled in a sizable field despite it having a turbo format with blind increasing every 25 minutes instead of 40 minutes. Out of the 401 entry field, only 50 players were guaranteed to advance to the ITM round.
Failing to qualify was the first ever USOP Vietnam Main Event champion, Nguyen Ngoc Dai who busted on a flip on the bubble. On the clear other end was Canada’s Bui Duc Tu aka Tobias Bui bagging up 1,100,000 in chips. Bui secured two late busts to stake his claim on the top spot. He will enter Day 2 ranked 5th in chips.
