Away from the tournament tables, Artur Martirosian was recognized as the Ivan Leow Player of the Year for Season 4. The Russian standout built his winning campaign on three titles and a dominant points lead over the rest of the field.

The award, presented by outgoing holder Tang, marks another major achievement in Martirosian’s already impressive Triton resume. With the new season now underway, attention shifts to whether he can maintain that level of performance in the months ahead.

After receiving the Ivan Leow Player of the Year trophy, Martirosian reflected on his journey and the effort it took to reach the top.

I knew it would be a long journey, but I believed it was possible. Thank you to everyone, and I look forward to seeing you at the tables.

Breakthrough Moment For Austin Yang

Austin Yang - Event #20: $15,000 Triton ONE High Roller Champion
Austin Yang

The final event of Triton ONE 2026 delivered a headline result as Malaysia’s Austin Yang converted his deep run into a career-defining victory. Facing one of the toughest possible lineups, Yang navigated through a field of 490 entries in the $15,000 High Roller before overcoming Isaac Haxton heads-up.

A three-way deal with Haxton and Bryn Kenney reshaped the payouts late, but Yang secured the title and $932,000 after eliminating Kenney in third and closing out the match. Haxton officially finished runner-up with the largest payout, while Kenney added another significant score to his record.

Yang reflected on his breakthrough win,

I think I just got lucky, to be honest. Give it a try, you might get lucky like me.

The win not only marked Yang’s first Triton title, but also placed him among the growing list of new champions emerging from the expanded Triton ONE schedule, which drew more than 5,300 total entries across the series.

Rene Van Krevelen Converts Persistence Into Victory

Rene Van Krevelen
Rene Van Krevelen

Rene Van Krevelen’s consistency on the Triton circuit finally translated into a title as he took down Event #21: $25,000 Short Deck. The Dutch pro, known for exclusively playing short deck, had accumulated multiple final table finishes over the years without a win – until now.

In a compact 40-entry field, the tournament stretched far beyond its intended schedule and turned into a high-variance battle in the closing stages. Van Krevelen maneuvered through the late-night grind, eventually defeating Lun Loon heads-up after both Jason Koon and Stephen Chidwick fell short of the final duel. The $308,000 victory stands as a milestone result for Van Krevelen, validating years of near misses on poker’s biggest stage.

Wai Kiat Lee Adds Another Title To His Record

Wai Kiat Lee Triton 10th Year
Wai Kiat Lee Celebrates Victory

Another familiar name returned to the winner’s circle as Wai Kiat Lee captured the $50,000 Short Deck title, overcoming a field of 60 entries. The Malaysian pro secured $840,000 and his 3rd career Triton trophy, now boasting more than $18 million in Triton earnings, after defeating Paul Phua in heads up play.

Lee paid tribute to Phua for his guidance and support shortly after a brief heads-up battle concluded, with Lee denying Phua what would have been his second Triton title. He described Phua as,

Like a father to me.

The final table was one of the toughest on the circuit, featuring a star studded lineup dominated by Asian players, with legendary names such as Ding Biao , Elton Tsang , and Winfred Yu , alongside Mikita Badziakouski as the sole European competitor. In a rare podium, three Malaysian players, Lee, Phua, and Lun Loon , claimed the top spots, highlighting the strength of Malaysia’s Triton talent. Loon made a strong showing as the runner up in the $50,000 Short Deck, adding another major score to his record.

The final table developed into a tightly contested affair, with Loon once again featuring prominently before finishing third. Lee’s victory reinforces his reputation as one of the circuit’s most reliable performers and cements his status among the elite, now joining the select group of three time Triton champions.
