China’s Ning Chu ended Day 2 of the Red Dragon Plus Championship as the chip leader. He finished the night with 2,590,000 (216 big blinds), putting him ahead of the 85 players moving forward. It was a long 11-hour day at LES A Casino, and everyone still in the game has now locked up a minimum prize of KRW 8,400,000 (~USD 5,655).

The tournament ended up with 931 total entries, creating a prize pool of KRW 3,217,536,000 (~USD 2,193,112). While Chu is out front, Guoliang Wei with 2,440,000 (203 big blinds) and Lei Yu with 2,420,000 (202 big blinds) are close behind.  Several other well-known players, including Aaron Lim , Patrik Demus , and Christian Harder , also made it through and are still in the hunt as the field gets smaller.

Day 2 Action And The Bubble

The day had several big hands that changed the standings quickly. In one notable hand, Ying Zheng’s pocket aces lost to Yuezeng Li’s kings when a king landed on the river. Day 2 also saw some experienced pros leave the tournament before reaching the payouts. Nguyen Le , the top winning player from Vietnam, was knocked out when his middle pair of sixes lost to Zehao Li’s top pair of sevens. German player Konstantin Held also lost his chips after a tough call against Lei Yu.

The most intense part of the day was the bubble. Evgenii Chzhen was the last person to leave without a prize after his pocket nines lost to Demus’ pocket kings. His exit meant the remaining 140 players were officially in the money.
