The highly awaited Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila Championship festivities at the award-winning PokerStars hub at Okada Manila, Philippines, has officially opened its curtains today, October 18th. Opening day of the grand festival sees the first five events of its 62 tournament lineup take the stage, with three champions set to walk away with spade trophies by day’s end. 

Two guaranteed highlights – PHP 1 Million (~USD 17,340) GTD SuperStack, and PHP 10 Million (~USD 173,475) GTD Okada Kick Off, stand under the spotlight, accompanied by a single day High Roller Warm Up event for those in search of bigger action. Okada Kick Off front and center

The opening key event, Okada Kick Off features three flights on schedule, the first two of which run across this Friday’s games. With PHP 10,000,000 (~USD 173,475) on the line, players have until tomorrow, October 19th to qualify, as each flight plays down to ITM at 15% of the field. Day 2 Final scheduled on Sunday, October 20th, guarantees each returning player a share of the prize pool, with a seven digit score on the horizon for the eventual champion. Aside from the notable prizes in store, the highlight’s top two finishers will also receive a PHP 165,000 (~US 2,890) APPT Championship entry to jumpstart their APPT Manila Championship run.

Due to kick off right on the series’ halfway mark, the inaugural APPT Championship to hit the city of Manila runs two flights on schedule with each entry setting players back PHP 165,000 (~USD 2,890). While it charges a steeper price than the customary, this season’s games boast an eye-catching PHP 55,000,000 (~USD 964,210) in guarantees, accompanied by deep stacks and great structure, allowing much room for play.

Unlimited re-entries are in the works for all Day 1’s, as each flight is geared to play through eleven levels of 60 minute gameplay. Day 2 remains open for registration through the end of the first level, and sees another ten hours of action right on the felt. Day 3 is where decisions really begin to matter with action set to conclude once the final table is set. Play sees an extended 90 minutes on the clock, all the way down to the Final Day where the top three winners will receive a PHP 175,000 (~USD 3,060) APPT Cambodia Package (seat and accommodation) entry taken from the prize pool, in addition to their winnings.
