Pedro Padilha Wins First Triton Title, Takes $1.4M After ICM Deal With Nick Petrangelo

Pedro Padilha has done it.

The Brazilian finally has his first Triton title after taking down Event #8: $50,000 NLH at Triton Jeju II S5 in LES A Casino , Jeju, South Korea , outlasting the 129-entry field to collect a massive $1,400,860.

It was a title Padilha had been chasing since coming close at the WSOP Bahamas in 2025, where he finished runner-up to Aleks Ponakovs in the $100K Triton Main Event . This time, Padilha went all the way, becoming only the fourth player from Brazil to win a Triton title in Jeju.

“It’s the best feeling,” Padilha said after the win. “It’s an amazing event, an amazing tournament, and I’m so happy.”

Pedro Padilha Wins Triton Jeju II S5 $50,000 NLH

The $50,000 NLH drew 129 entries, creating a $6,450,000 prize pool. With some of the biggest names in poker making the final table, Pedro Padilha had plenty of work to do from the start.

Aliaksei Boika entered the final table as the chip leader with 5,310,000, followed by Nick Petrangelo with 4,925,000. Padilha sat third with 3,930,000, while Yang Wang , Phil Ivey , and Wai Kiat Lee were also among the remaining players.

The bubble had already passed before the final table was reached, with Tony Ren Lin finishing as the bubble boy after running into Petrangelo’s pocket aces.

Once the final nine were set, the short stacks started to disappear while Padilha remained in the mix.

Lee Falls Short of Back-to-Back Titles

Wai Kiat Lee was looking for something no one had done before at Triton. – winning back-to-back Triton events.

Lee had just won the $40K Mystery Bounty for his fourth Triton title and returned to the final table of the $50K NLH with 1,895,000, good for 24 big blinds.

He managed to find a few doubles, including pocket aces against Petrangelo, but eventually ran out of room. With just four big blinds left, Lee moved in with king-eight and was called by Aliaksei Boika with pocket sixes. The pair held, sending Lee to the rail in sixth place for $361,000.

It was still another deep run for Lee in Jeju after his Mystery Bounty victory, but the chance at a second straight title came to an end.

Padilha Keeps Moving Forward

As the field narrowed, Padilha continued to pick up chips and eventually found himself among the final three alongside Boika and Nick Petrangelo .

Petrangelo watched a massive portion of his stack disappear when his pocket aces were cracked by Boika’s queen-jack. Boika flopped a flush draw and completed it on the river to double up, leaving Petrangelo with barely enough chips to continue.

Those chips were only on loan to Boika, however. Only a few hands later, they were sitting in front of Padilha, who three-bet jammed over Boika’s open. Boika called off his remaining stack with ace-nine, but Padilha turned over ace-king. The better ace held, ending Boika’s challenge for a second title in three days with a third place finish for $697,000.

Padilha Takes Down Petrangelo

Padilha started heads-up play with 35 big blinds against Petrangelo’s 17 big blinds.

The two quickly agreed to a straight ICM deal, locking up $1,350,860 for Padilha and $1,201,140 for Petrangelo, with another $50,000 left to play for and the Triton title still on the line.

The final hand came shortly after.

Petrangelo held king-four against Padilha’s queen-eight. A four appeared on the flop, but Padilha improved to a pair of eights on the turn. The river changed nothing, giving Padilha the final pot and the biggest title of his live career.

“It’s an amazing event, an amazing tournament, and I’m so happy,” Padilha said.

He also spoke about the support coming from Brazil, where friends and fans were watching his run in Jeju.

“People are so happy for me. I have so many friends watching. I want to give one kiss to all Brazilian people.“

For Petrangelo, there was no bitterness about the result.

“He’s a legend,” Petrangelo said of Padilha. “He’s a tough player. I was running good, that’s it.”

Pedro Padilha leaves Triton Jeju II S5 with his first Triton trophy, a seven-figure payday, and a place among the small group of Brazilian players to have won a Triton title.
