Final table recap
A few spots from the final table, Romania’s Vlad Stefan “HaiFanFan” Lache eliminated Albania’s “5reijfu4” in 11th place then Brazil’s Eder “BlueMoon” Campana missed his chance at a second final table, falling to fellow countryman Gabriel Schroeder in 10th place. The final table opened with HaiFanFan as chip leader and Andres “chokitin” Korn ranked 7th. Korn was the only player seeking his second career WSOP win.
The final table clocked in just over two hours. Along the way, AK was very active but not profitable. Lowest ranked Rafi “CheckYoMama” Elharar was first to double up when his found a six on the board to outdraw Katie “ShantayUStay” Lindsay’s . Austria’s Yannick “ProbierEs” Schumacher earned the next big boost with holding against HaiFanfan’s that also missed. Immediately after, CheckYoMama shipped another reload with pocket Aces turned set against HaiFanFan’s A2o two pair. Getting very lucky was China’s “jackthewinner” who shoved its last 6 bb from the small blind with , got called by big blind Schroeder with , and once again big slick was no good with 10 on the turn for a double up to the short stack. More of the same, ShantayUStay was sent plummeting after paying another double up, this time to Korn with holding against . Five minutes after, ShantayUStay fell in 9th place to DontTiltGG with AQ dominating KJ.
Before the next player fell, there were three double ups. First one was paid by chip leader ProbierEs who shoved on the river with air, CheckYoMama called with the nuts straight to rise to 2nd rank. Jackthewinner also collected off ProbierEs with a winning flush but then lost most of it when bricked against Korn’s that improved to quads. Noticing the AK losing streak, HaiFanFan commented “AK not good today”. Two hands after, HaiFanFan 3-bet shoved with and like everyone before him, it was a dud. HaiFanFan was ousted in 8th place by ProbierEs . Despite missing the glory, it was an overall good day for HaiFanFan who won one of the WSOPC High Rollers side events for an added US$ 22,843.41 in winnings.
Korn claimed his first bust of the final table with jackthewinner booted in 7th place. Patrick “Nelepo10” Ulyssea followed in 6th place with ProbierEs earning his second knockout. It took forty minutes for the table to lose another. During that time, the blinds climbed and the average stack dropped to as low as 12 bb. Big slick failed again with Korn paying a double up to CheckYoMama when two sevens turned up. Korn avoided the rail when he cracked DontTiltGG’s pocket Aces with KJo two pair. CheckYoMama then finished off the very short stacked Schroeder with pocket eights dominating pocket fours. ProbierEs earned his third victim with QJc cracking DontTiltGG’s pocket Kings.
At three remaining, the average was 12 bb. No action but to shove. Korn doubled up with pocket fives against CheckYoMama Q10s that missed then took the rest to face ProbierEs at heads up with an 8 bb deficit. The second heads-up hand awarded Korn a dominating 4:1 lead with staying ahead of . He closed it out on the next hand with top pair over on a board .
