Top 6 most entertaining poker players to watch

There are many successful poker players out there, and every now and again, they manage to steal the headlines by taking down a big tournament or winning big on a televised cash game stream. However, a few also stand out from the rest and end up at the center of attention for different reasons.

We’ve seen a fair few such players over the years. It’s their table antics or their willingness to go against the grain that puts them in the spotlight time and time again. While this doesn’t always earn them respect from their peers or even fans, there is no denying that they bring a lot of excitement and color to the world of poker.

With that in mind, we came up with a list of the most entertaining poker players to watch in 2026. While we can’t know how they’ll do at the tables in terms of financial results, these select few are guaranteed to create some funny and controversial moments over the coming months.

#1 Martin Kabrhel – One of the Most Entertaining Poker Players to Watch

Hailing from the Czech Republic, Martin Kabrhel took only a few years to become one of the most controversial poker players. It was his table antics, especially his “speech play,” that brought him notoriety.

If you are a poker fan, you’re probably aware of what we’re talking about. Kabrhel just can’t stop talking at the table, using his words to confuse and misdirect his opponents. You probably remember Will Kassouf became known for the same thing, but Martin could well take over the title of the king of “speech play” from Kassouf.

On top of this, the Czech high-roller has become notorious for wasting time, taking an extremely long time to act in spots where stalling works in his favor.

It’s very important to say that all of his behavior falls within the rules of the game, which is why there is very little his opponents can do to stop it. Adding to the frustration is the fact that Kabrhel is actually really good at poker.

Martin has certainly divided the poker fan base. Some don’t like what he is doing, while others enjoy the drama and his incredible ability to throw other players off their game. Either way, there is no denying that he is one of the most colorful characters around and one of the poker players to watch in 2026.

#2 Dan “Jungleman” Cates – One of the Funniest Poker Players to Watch

For a long time, Cates has been known for his poker skills , and, while he was undeniably one of the best, especially in the heads-up arena, he was hardly one of the funniest poker players around.

However, things started to change a few years back, when Jungleman took a sharp turn, determined to become more than just a good poker player. He became much more active on social media and began creating funny, entertaining content.

He’s also developed a keen interest in various poker controversies, putting himself out there to uncover cheaters or to act as an arbiter in disputes between players.

Granted, his idea of entertainment may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there is no denying he is thinking outside the box. Just look at the boxing match against Ryan “Elf” Noel he organized in January of this year.

Dan “Jungelman” Cates may be an acquired taste, but he is a high-profile poker player who is not afraid to explore ideas outside the comfort of the green felt. At the same time, he seems intent on making the poker space safer for everyone by outing the world’s cheaters and scammers.

So, if you feel like adding some controversy to your X/Twitter feed, make sure to follow Cates, as it feels like 2026 could be the year where he takes things to a whole new level.

#3 Alan Keating – Pure Charisma & Entertaining Poker

Alan Keating may not fit the definition of an entertainer, but he is certainly one of the most entertaining poker players to watch if you love the game. Aalan would not make the list of the funniest poker players to watch, but if you are more interested in the poker part than the show part of the game, he definitely deserves attention.

Mr. Keating became famous primarily for his numerous appearances on live poker streams, quickly becoming a fan favorite without trying too hard. He seems very genuine in his love for the game; he is always very respectable and polite, and he just can’t get enough of the action.

Add to this the fact that he clearly has a massive bankroll to work with, and it’s no surprise that poker fans are thrilled to tune in when they know he’ll be playing.

There is a certain veil of mystery surrounding the millionaire. Nobody knows exactly where his money comes from, but it’s pretty clear he’s a successful businessman. As for his poker, he’s not a hardcore professional, but he’s certainly no slouch.

All of these things make Keating extremely fun to watch. He doesn’t care about GTO strategy, although he’s very aware of it. He’ll pull the craziest of bluffs and make the sickest of calls, leaving other players and fans watching at home in a state of shock and disbelief.

And, win or lose, he’ll never berate his opponents. Always with a smile on his face and showing respect to everyone (even when they don’t particularly deserve it), Alan has won the hearts of millions of poker fans around the globe.

We are certain to see much more of him in 2026 as stream producers love having him at the tables, and the same goes for other players. Mr. Keating loves to have fun; he’s never afraid to give action, and he always makes the atmosphere in the room better.

#4 Phil Hellmuth – Always an Entertaining Player to Watch

It’s hard to make a list of the funniest or most entertaining poker players to watch without mentioning Poker Brat. One would think that Hellmuth’s table antics would become old news by now, but fans just can’t get enough of them.

While Phil recently gave out a PSA about changing things around, we all know that he can’t change who he is. No matter how many WSOP bracelets he wins, he’ll always get upset about his aces getting cracked by a poorly played two-gapper held by an amateur. Or losing a flip against a fellow pro.

In all fairness, he did rein it in a bit in recent months, but the simple truth is that we’re always inches away from another epic Poker Brat explosion. And the best part is, it’s impossible to predict when it might happen.

Sure, he’s likelier to explode after losing a big six-figure pot, but he could also go off after busting a $1k tournament during WSOP. Because, with Phil, it’s not about money – he probably has more than he could spend. It’s about winning and losing, and although he knows losing is an essential part of poker, sometimes he just can’t help it.

Like other players who wear their emotions on their sleeves, Hellmuth has often been criticized for his outbursts, but many fans love seeing it. We all get annoyed and frustrated at the tables every now and again, but bite our tongue. Phil doesn’t.

It seems that Poker Brat has some serious plans for 2026, mixing it up with some high-rollers, so we’ll be seeing him around and keeping an eye out. Is there really a new Phil out there? Only bad beats will tell.

#5 Daniel Negreanu – A Poker Player to Watch If You Want to Learn

Daniel Negreanu is one of those poker players who truly need no introduction. Over the years, he’s created a legacy in poker that very few can match, winning millions in prize money and earning all sorts of accolades.

But, unlike some of his very accomplished peers, Daniel Negreanu is also one of the most entertaining players to watch for a number of reasons.

Daniel Negreanu is just as good at entertaining poker fans as in playing at the felt

First of all, he approaches the game in a very friendly manner and usually has a good rapport with other players at the table. He builds on this rapport when he is involved in a hand, engaging his opponents in conversation and looking for tells.

The skills Negreanu has developed over the many years he’s been playing the game help him make some of the most amazing reads. From a purely entertaining point of view, this is the kind of stuff you want to see. It feels almost like scripted, but you know it’s not. It is happening in real time against a person who is certainly not looking to help his opponent out.

But there are other reasons Negreanu is one of the poker players to watch in 2026.

Daniel has made it a habit to publish daily vlogs for his nearly 1M YouTube followers during his World Series of Poker endeavors. These represent a mix of hand breakdowns, hot topics, and pure vents after a bad day at the tables. Negreanu films his vlogs on the spot, so you get his thoughts pretty much unfiltered, without him having time to figure out what he should or shouldn’t say.

If you’re not attending the World Series yourself, this is one of the best ways to experience the atmosphere at one of the biggest poker events.

Frequent hand breakdowns are also a great learning tool, especially for mixed games. Negreanu often discusses spots from PLO, Razz, and 2-7 tournaments – poker variations he’s very good at. There is a lot to learn from these videos.

#6 Will Kassouf – One of the Most Controversial Poker Players to Look Out For

Will Kassouf had a pretty rocky 2025, getting himself in hot water with WSOP officials. He went on a deep run in the Main Event, but he also managed to annoy quite a few players and tournament directors along the way. After his elimination, he was banned from playing any WSOP events for the rest of the series.

Now, we are all wondering if Will Kassouf will be back in 2026 with revenge.

Although his antics can sometimes be too much, there is no denying that he is one of the funniest poker players to watch when he is in his element. He is certainly the man who sticks to his guns, to the bitter end.

However, after last year’s fallout, it is possible that Kassouf will feel less inspired to play at big events, especially the World Series, and even if he does, he’ll probably have to make certain promises. If he has to give up on his speech play, it just won’t be the same.

On the other hand, it’s hard to imagine he’d agree to such terms or, even if he were to agree in principle, that he’d manage to go the entire series without reverting to his old ways. It’s possible, of course, as stranger things have happened, but we just don’t see it.

Either way, Will Kassouf is most certainly one of the players to watch out for in 2026. Will we see him making the headlines again, refueling the discussion that’s been going on for years now? It’s probably a coin toss at this point in time.

Most Entertaining Poker Players to Watch in 2026: Honorable Mentions

This is not an exhaustive list of the funniest poker players to watch in 2026. There are a fair few others who could fit in for one reason or another, but it would make this article way too long.
So, instead, here are a few more honorable mentions.

Phil Ivey is always fun to watch, but more so recently, simply because we never know when to expect him. Now that he’s more involved with the World Poker Tour and WPT Global , we’ll probably get to see more of No Home Jerome at the tables. Why is that important, you ask? Well, that’s simple: because he is Phil Ivey!

Phil ‘Unabomber’ Laak has been making regular appearances at the Bally Poker Live stream, and if you’re an old-school poker fan, this is great news. Laak is certainly one of the funniest poker players to watch. The way he thinks about poker is just different, and he has no problems sharing those thoughts with the world.

Doug Polk is the guy to watch and follow if you want funny breakdowns of poker news and controversies. His YouTube channel is a great source of information, delivered with just the right amount of spice. Plus, you can also watch him play at his own poker club in Texas.

These are some of the funniest and most entertaining poker players to watch in 2026, on and off the felt. Combining great poker, plenty of action, quality humor, and some spicy controversy, they never fail to deliver, each in his own unique way.
