Khemset Holistic Poker Codex - LuckyChewy

Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger has opened orders for his new book, the Khemset Holistic Poker Codex. It follows his earlier book, The Yoga of Poker.

The Codex is a 222-page luxury hardcover priced at $85. Chewy says only 500 copies have been printed, and this edition won't be reprinted in the same style. Orders are expected to ship in December 2026.

The book blends high-stakes poker strategy with ancient philosophy and Chewy's ideas on intuition. It's the full version of his shorter Holistic Poker Handbook, which you get free when you sign up for updates on luckychewy.com. The Codex adds far more strategy, plus personal stories from his life and career.

Three Volumes, 21 Chapters

The Codex is split into three volumes of seven chapters each.

  • Volume 1 - Poker strategy: how Chewy approaches the game at the highest stakes

  • Volume 2 - Ancient philosophy: his views on the nature of reality, drawn from Stoicism, Taoism and Hermeticism

  • Volume 3 - Science and spirituality: his attempt to connect the two

What Is Khemset?

Khemset is the name Chewy gave his own philosophy. He coined it after Khem, the ancient Egyptian land linked to Hermeticism.

It rests on three traditions he says shaped both his poker and his life:

  • Stoicism - focus on what you control, accept what you don't

  • Taoism - balance and effortless action, or wu wei

  • Hermeticism - the idea that your outer results reflect your inner state

Khemset is also the name of his free community on Skool, which carries the tagline: come for the poker, stay for the mysticism.

A Preview - What the Handbook Teaches

Want a taste before the Codex ships? The shorter Holistic Poker Handbook is free - you get access when you sign up for Chewy’s updates on luckychewy.com. It covers the same ground in four quick sections.

Section

Key Ideas

Strategy & Theory

First principles, ranges, pushing equity

Mindset & Mental Game

Tilt as a choice, Stoic thinking, detaching from results

Intuition & Coherence

Gut reads, flow states, heart coherence

Philosophy & Metaphysics

Luck versus skill, accountability, Hermetic principles

One Question Before Every Action

Chewy's core strategy tip is simple. Before you act, ask what you're trying to accomplish. If you can't answer clearly, strip the spot back to first principles.

Tilt Is a Choice

He argues bouncing back from a big loss isn't hard. It just takes accepting that recovery is a choice - and that the alternative is worse. He also uses the Stoic habit of picturing bad outcomes in advance so they don't knock you off balance.

Luck and Intuition

Chewy says he runs best when he wants to win but is fully at peace with losing. The practical takeaway: own your results completely, without shame or judgment.

To test your gut, his free Khemset app on the web and iOS includes a simple Intuition Trainer; you guess the next card and score points for matching the suit, rank, or exact card.

From Online Grinder to High Roller

Before the trophies and the Codex, Chewy played online. He went by "LuckyChewy" online and won more than $3 million before moving to live tournaments in 2007. Many fans first saw him on 2 Months, 2 Million, the reality show that followed four young online pros living and grinding in Las Vegas.

Chewy's Big 2026

  • Topped the PGT leaderboard after the Kickoff series

  • Won the PokerGO Cup Event #10 finale in March for $257,400, his ninth PGT title, knocking out every player at the final table

  • Cashed in four WSOP 2026 events, including 22nd in the $50,000 High Roller for $100,000

He now has more than $24.8 million in live tournament earnings according to The Hendon Mob, plus a WSOP bracelet and a 2014 WPT Alpha8 title worth $2.1 million.
