Day 9 of Poker Dream 26 Malaysia in Genting Highlands saw Hao Tian claim the biggest buy-in tournament of the festival, winning the MYR20,000 (~USD 5,000) Super High Roller for MYR477,000 (~USD 116,800). The victory earned Tian his first Poker Dream trophy and the biggest cash of his Poker Dream career, pushing his total live tournament earnings to nearly USD 2 million.

Away from the high roller tables, the MYR4 million (~USD 1 million) guaranteed Main Event completed three more starting flights, bringing the total to six of ten flights played and 643 entries. With four flights remaining, the race to qualify for Day 2 continues on Day 10, alongside the festival's MYR 290,000 (~USD 71,000) Mystery Jackpot.

The MYR 20,000 (~USD 5,000) Super High Roller attracted 47 entries on Day 1, with registration remaining open during the early levels of Day 2. The field eventually grew to 101 entries, with only 16 players making the money.

Eng Chong Tan was the unfortunate bubble . He moved all-in from the button with pocket kings, only to run into Wai Keong Yong's ace-king in the big blind. An ace on the flop gave Yong the lead, and he held on to eliminate Tan just short of the payouts.

Yong carried the chip lead into the final table, and the first elimination came quickly when Muk Pin Lai finished ninth after running pocket queens into Murly's hand.

Peng Joon Chan followed in eighth place after a river bluff ran into Yong's trips. Huafeng Lin then exited in seventh after Warhurst hit a set on the flop in a flip.

Tian needed a crucial double-up against Yong to stay in contention. In a classic flip, Tian's ace-king came through against Yong's pocket jacks when he made quads. The momentum shift proved important as Tian continued his climb toward the title.

Wenyan Liao, the last woman remaining at the final table, finished sixth, followed by Yang Siang Ang in fifth. Murly then departed in fourth place, leaving Tian, Yong, and Warhurst to battle for the trophy.

Warhurst's run ended in third place after a preflop confrontation in which his ace-king was ahead of Tian's ace-nine. A nine on the flop turned the hand in Tian's favor, and Warhurst could not recover.
