GOP Taipei Day 7: Kosasih Defends Demigods Title as GOP Taipei Main Event Faces Big Overlay

Day 7 of The Trial of Wisdom – GOP Taipei 2026 at CTP Asia Poker Arena , saw Fendy Kosasih go back-to-back in the Demigods Challenge , defending the title he won at the previous GOP festival in Manila . The GOP Accumulator also crowned Seongjin Kim after he outlasted 569 entries, while the GOP Taipei Main Event added another 71 entries in Flight C.

The GOP Taipei Main Event now has 145 entries across three starting flights, leaving the prize pool well short of the NT$17 million (~US$ 535,000) guarantee. There are two flights remaining, along with three 15-seat guaranteed Main Event satellites and 27 Titan Stack survivors who have already secured Main Event tickets.

Fendy Kosasih Goes Back-to-Back in the Demigods Challenge

Fendy Kosasih has done it again.

After winning the Demigods Challenge at the previous GOP festival in Manila , the Indonesian has successfully defended his title in Taipei , winning the NT$320,000 event for NT$1,636,900 (~USD 51,495) and claiming his third trophy of the festival.

Kosasih faced Harry Halim heads-up with a massive chip lead. The title was decided on the very first hand of heads-up play when the chips went in, with Halim holding A♣ K♣ against Kosasih’s 10♥ 10♣. The Q♠ 7♣ 3♦ 5♠ 8♠ board failed to improve Halim’s hand, giving Kosasih the title.

Halim collected NT$982,100 for second place, while Kosasih added another Demigods Challenge trophy to the one he won at the previous GOP Manila .

Kosasih admitted afterward that he had not originally planned to enter the event because he already had the same-colored Gauntlet from Manila, but his friends convinced him to play.

“I actually shouldn’t play because the color of the Gauntlet is the same. But my friends kept pushing me to play, so I played.”

Now holding two Gauntlets, Kosasih joked that GOP could make things easier for him next time. “I have two trophies now. Hopefully they make a right-hand version of the Gauntlet so I can wear both.”

Seongjin Kim Wins the GOP Accumulator

The GOP Accumulator also reached its conclusion after seven starting flights, attracting 569 entries in total. A field of 68 players returned for the final stage, with all remaining players already guaranteed a cash prize.

Seongjin Kim and Ryusuke Kasawaki entered heads-up play with essentially the same number of chips. With little separating the two players, they agreed to split the remaining money rather than play out the match, leaving a small portion of the prize pool to play for alongside the trophy.

Kasawaki took the larger cash payout of NT$451,500 (~US$ 14,205), while Kim collected NT$447,800 (~US$ 14,085) and the Accumulator trophy.

GOP Taipei Main Event Still Has a Big Number to Chase

The third starting flight of the GOP Taipei Main Event added another 71 entries, bringing the total field to 145 entries across the first three flights.

Ten players survived Flight C, all securing a cash prize and a place in Day 2. Japan’s Masaki Saito finished on top with a substantial stack of 1,521,000, followed by Guo Jin Zeng with 1,125,000 and Miyagi Tomo with 1,008,000.

Saito secured the chip lead after bursting the bubble with a turned nut flush against Vinay B , who had arrived straight from the airport to late-register for the flight.

The field still has a considerable distance to go. With only 145 entries recorded, the GOP Taipei Main Event remains well short of the NT$17 million guarantee, which requires close to 600 entries at the NT$33,000 buy-in.

There are two final starting flights on September 25. Flight D begins at 12:30 p.m., with registration closing at 5 p.m., while Flight E starts at 6 p.m., with registration closing at 10:30 p.m.

The field could also receive a sizeable boost from the qualification events. The three Main Event satellites guarantee 15 seats each, potentially adding 45 Main Event entries, while the 27 Titan Stack survivors have also secured NT$33,000 Main Event tickets.

All surviving players from the five starting flights will combine for Day 2 on Saturday, September 26.

Titan Stack Boosted Edition Sends 27 Players Through

The Titan Stack Boosted Edition completed its three starting flights with 186 entries, finishing just short of the boosted NT$2 million guarantee.

The opening flight drew 64 entries, with Yasufumi Tahara leading the nine survivors on 1,070,000. Reigning GOP Manila Main Event champion Dakota Anderson then topped Flight B with 1,308,000, while Yuki Yamamoto led the eight survivors from Flight C with 882,000.

In total, 27 players advanced to Day 2. Each survivor secured a NT$33,000 Main Event ticket along with at least NT$11,800 in cash, while the eventual Titan Stack champion will receive NT$260,800.

Three Main Event Satellites Guarantee 45 Seats

GOP Taipei has also increased the guarantees on its Main Event satellites, with each of the three NT$3,500 satellites guaranteeing 15 Main Event seats.

The first satellite ran at 9 p.m. yesterday, followed by two more today at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Each seat is worth NT$33,000, meaning the three satellites alone can generate 45 additional Main Event entries.

Combined with the 27 players who earned Main Event tickets through the Titan Stack, there is potential for 72 additional Main Event entries through these qualification routes.

Two Final Main Event Flights on Day 8

The GOP Taipei Main Event now enters its final starting day, with Flight D beginning at 12:30 p.m. and Flight E at 6 p.m. Registration for the final flight closes at 10:30 p.m.

Two more NT$3,500 Main Event satellites will also guarantee 15 seats each, while Big O and four additional NLHE events are scheduled alongside the final Main Event flights.

With 145 entries currently recorded, plus the additional players expected through the Titan Stack and satellite routes, the final two flights will determine the overall size of the field heading into Day 2.
