Everything you need to know about the USD 1 Million guaranteed WPT Prime Taiwan MAIN EVENT – August 17 to 21 at Asia Poker Arena
In a couple of days the spotlight will shine on the World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Taiwan’s crown jewel, the esteemed MAIN EVENT! With one week of pre-games already in the bag, the upcoming highlight has drawn plenty of interest with players from all over already at the scene and eager for a piece of the USD 1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. This is the largest tournament prize pool presented by the brand in Taiwan and it is scheduled to run from August 17 to 21, 2023 at the newly opened Asia Poker ArenainTaipei City.
Since the introduction of WPT Prime last year, the young tour has quickly expanded from five stops to twelve stops this year. Taiwan is the tenth in the calendar and it is the last one for the season in Asia. Like all other Prime events, the champion will be awarded a WPT World Championship ticket worth USD 10,400 for Season XXI, theWPT value-adds airfare and accommodation.

As for past champions, WPT Prime Cambodia Season XX winner David Erquiaga got an early start and has already cashed at a couple of side games. 2019 WPT DeepStacks Vietnam champion Vincent Chauve has also been spotted but has yet to get on the board. Of course, Taiwan’s own Pete Yen Han Chen (WPT Beijing 2016) won’t miss out on the action right on home soil. Chen has also cashed at the side events.
