Aussie Millions 2020 full schedule announced

When it comes to tournament series’ in the southern hemisphere, few, if any compare to the Aussie Millions in terms of size and prestige. For those who look forward to this series every year, the release of the schedule is an important date. For Aussie Millions 2020, that date has now arrived. For the top pros with the bigger bankrolls, the High Roller events are always a star attraction.

This year will see all the usual High Roller Challenge events, along with the Main Event, mixed game events and an opening event with a seven-figure guarantee.

Here is a look at some of the 23 events which will feature in the series, set to take place between January 4th and 24th at the Crown Melbourne Casino.

Main Event andHigh Rollers

AU$10,600 Main Event

Date: 17th January

Entry fee: AU$10,600 (US$7,465)

Days: 7-day event (starting flights January 17th,18th and 19th)

The Main Event will, as ever be the jewel in the crown of the Aussie Millions, with its AU$10,600 buy in typically attracting around 800 runners and creating a prize pool in excess of AU$8,000,000 (US$5,634,182). The entry numbers for 2019 (822) rose by 21 compared to 2018, an upwards trend in participation numbers which has been constant for several years.

This bodes well for the 2020 Main Event, for which 850 entries would not be a surprise. The tournament plays out across 7 days including all starting flights and the final table playing out on January 24th after a day’s break. Somewhere in the region of AU$1,500,000 (US$1,056,409) is expected as the top prize for the Main Event, which concludes on the same day as the AU$100,000 Challenge.
