Asia Poker League Taiwan in full swing, Kwon Eun Ho claims DSO title

After a successful opening event in China with a 1043-strong Main Event field the Asia Poker League now kicked off their second event of the year.

The event is running from 20th to 28th April and is hosted at the CTP Club in Asia’s poker hotspot Taipei, Taiwan. It is partnered with the Deepstack Open, a popular European tour known for its good structure and affordable buy-in. Alex Henry, CEO of the tour, made the trip to Asia for this special occasion.

The Deepstack Open

The NT$ 10,500 (US$ 340) Deepstack Open was the first event of the festival on Saturday, 20th April. The two starting flights attracted a total of 294 entries and it was Korea’s Kwon Eun Ho who came out victorious the day after for a NT$ 412,045 (~US$ 13,357) payday.

APL Top Gun and Turbo events

Two events were held on 21st April, the NT$ 6,600 (~US$ 214) winner-takes-all APL Top Gun and the NT$ 7,700 (~US$ 250) NLH Turbo 1.

Chin Ying Liang was the sole winner in the Top Gun event for NT$ 203,700 (~US$ 6,603).

The NLH Turbo 1 event had 43 entries and six paid places. It was Kuang Hung Lee who topped the field and took home the nice trophy and NT$ 113,900 (~US$ 3,692).

Knockout and Hyper Turbo events

Monday action saw a NT$ 8,400 (~US$ 272) knockout event with NT$ 2,000 bounties and a NT$ 5,500 (~US$ 178) Hyper Turbo tournament.

It was Wei Zheng who knocked through the 66-player field and scored a NT$ 133,000 (~US$ 4,311) win plus bounties.

The NT$ 22,000 (~US$ 713) APL Main Event had its first starting day on Monday, and there is more to come over the next few days.

The Main Event itself has three starting days, there will be a NT$ 55,000 (~US$ 1,782) High Roller event with two starting days, another Knockout tournament and much more fun action.
