Day 3 of the largest APT Main Event showing in the country welcomed 301 runners back on the felt, each looking to lock up a piece of the massive NTD 86,011,200 (~US$ 2,722,735) prize pool. Tension was high right from the start with the money set to trickle in following sixty six more eliminations.

By the second level of the day, the money bubble finally burst with Kelvin Lee being the unfortunate gunner to fall one spot short of the money. Action was seen right on the featured table where Lee was at risk with QQ against Manapat Chuchaisri’s 77 on a flop of J67. No hope for Lee came on either turn 4 or river 7, further improving Chuchaisri to quads for the 100 BB pot. While Lee’s Main Event run came to an end, all the 295 players behind secured a minimum payout of NTD 77,000 (~US$ 2,400).

Play continued for seven more levels before the day closed as the field thinned down to 47 players remaining. Abraham Ceesvin leads the charts with 4,570,000 (152 BB), followed closely by local crusher Eric Tsai with an equally healthy 3,765,000 (126 BB) onto Day 4. Ceesvin has been a regular across the APT circuit with results dating back to 2016, and three APT titles to show for. The Singporean runner however, remains to be on the hunt for his biggest win yet, with two days of action left to overcome.

Joining the list are WPT Cambodia champion Konstantin Held 2,715,000 (91 BB), APT Superstar Challenge winner Chih Wei Fan 2,010,000 (67 BB), Singapore’s Dhanesh Chainani 1,910,000 (64 BB), UK’s Dominik Nitsche 1,540,000 (51 BB), Taiwan’s own Nevan Chang 1,280,000 (43 BB), and Australia’s Daniel Nielson 410,000 (14 BB), to name a few.

Still a game of cards, many fell short of making the final six tables of which include former Main Event champions Shixiang Khoo (48th), Punnat Punsri (70th), and  Lester Edoc (133rd). Previous winners on the hunt for another title, Thanisorn Saelor (69th), Jun Li (90th), Joshua McCully (92nd), Ravn Teo (116th), and Isaac Phua (214th), likewise bid their Main Event dreams goodbye, along with Natural8 ambassadors Hua Wei Lin (165th), Kannapong “Tent” Thanarattrakul (192nd), Kitty Kuo (243rd), and Kunal Patni (264th).
