Flo Campomanes

Following three starting flights, 61 players survived the first fifteen levels of play and returned back to the scene on the hunt for a piece of the pot. With only 47 runners set to take a payday, the money bubble burst by the second level of play with Kiyoung Kim taking the brunt of it having suffered a bad beat against Justin Chu. Guaranteed a minimum payout of PHP 144,000 (~USD 2,500), eliminations were seen one after the other with the final table eventually set following seven more hours on the floor.

Past season’s APPT Open champion 100 BB pot off of Christopher Mateo by the last three tables. First to breach the 1 million mark, Campomanes carried this ammo all the way through the end, capping the day with 1,700,000 (68 BB) in chips, in great shape to gun for a back to back victory.

Joining Campomanes across the final games are Australia’s Matthew Wakeman – 1,510,000 (60 BB) and Ireland’s Gary Thompson – 1,355,000 (54 BB), to round up the top three chip counts.

Several international notables fell out of the running yet collected paydays include Gab Yong Kim (19th), APPT Manila Championship High Roller winners Stevan Chew (21st) and Bert Perry (42nd), along with day chip leader Neel Joshi (32nd). Local runners James Mendoza (17th), APPT Okada Kick Off champion Czardy Rivera (24th), and Christopher Mateo (25th), likewise ran deep yet missed to secure a seat into the final table.
