ACR Poker's Halloween Mystery PKO tournaments are underway, featuring $650,000 in combined guarantees and a new bounty format.

ACR Poker's Halloween Special continues to gain momentum, with 5,413 entries recorded across three Mystery PKO tournaments in the poker room's lobby as of October 22.

The events kicked off on October 18, but the action is far from over. Daily starting flights remain available ahead of November 1, when all three tournaments enter their bounty phase and players finally get to uncover the hidden mystery prizes.

With $650,000 in combined guarantees and buy-ins starting at just $5.50, the Halloween Special caters to a wide range of bankrolls. However, the biggest talking point is ACR Poker's new Mystery PKO format, which combines hidden Mystery Bounties with visible Progressive Bounties.

Under the new system, a knockout can deliver an immediate payout while simultaneously making the winning player a more valuable target for everyone else at the table.

Here's how the tournaments are shaping up, how the new bounty mechanics work, and what players should know before entering.

Three Halloween Mystery PKOs With $650K Guaranteed

ACR Poker's Halloween Special features three separate tournaments, each with its own buy-in, guaranteed prize pool, and Day 2 field.

The latest figures from the ACR Poker client show that the $5.50 tournament has attracted the most entries, while the $109 event accounts for the largest share of the combined guarantee.

Participation has grown considerably since the opening flights.

The $5.50 tournament alone accounts for approximately 65% of all entries displayed in the latest snapshot, highlighting the popularity of the lowest buy-in option.

Meanwhile, the $109 event remains the headline tournament, with $500,000 guaranteed.

How Does ACR Poker's New Mystery PKO Format Work?

Mystery Bounty and Progressive Knockout tournaments are already familiar formats in online poker. ACR Poker's latest innovation combines the two concepts into a single knockout system.

In a traditional Mystery Bounty tournament, eliminating an opponent during the bounty phase reveals a hidden prize that is paid to the player who scored the knockout.

In a Progressive Knockout tournament, part of the bounty collected from an elimination is added to the winner's own bounty, making that player a more valuable target.

ACR Poker's new Mystery PKO format brings both mechanics together.

Whenever a player scores an eligible knockout during Day 2, the eliminated opponent's hidden Mystery Bounty is revealed and divided into two equal parts:

  • 50% is paid immediately to the player who scored the elimination.

  • 50% is added to that player's visible Progressive Bounty.

There is also a second component.

If the eliminated opponent has already accumulated a Progressive Bounty, that amount is divided the same way. Half is paid immediately to the eliminator, while the remaining half increases their own Progressive Bounty.

This means a single elimination can generate rewards from two different sources: a newly revealed Mystery Bounty and an existing Progressive Bounty.

According to ACR Poker, the format is exclusive to the Winning Poker Network.

Mystery PKO Example: How the 50/50 Split Works

Consider a player who eliminates an opponent with a hidden Mystery Bounty worth $100 and an accumulated Progressive Bounty of $40.

The rewards would be distributed as follows:

Bounty Component

Immediate Payout

Added to Winner's Bounty

$100 Mystery Bounty

$50

$50

$40 Progressive Bounty

$20

$20

Total

$70

$70

This hypothetical example illustrates the format's mechanics and does not represent an advertised Halloween Special bounty prize.

The winning player immediately collects $70, while another $70 gets added to their existing Progressive Bounty.

This creates an interesting dynamic.

In a traditional Mystery Bounty tournament, the entire mystery prize is removed from the bounty pool once it has been claimed. Under ACR Poker's new system, part of that value remains in circulation through the Progressive Bounty mechanism.

If another player subsequently eliminates the bounty holder, part of that accumulated value is paid out, while the rest transfers to the next player's bounty.

Even after a major Mystery Bounty has been revealed, some of its value can remain in play through subsequent eliminations.

Multiple Day 1 Flights Allow Players to Combine Their Stacks

Another notable feature of the Halloween Special is its multi-flight qualification structure.

Unlike tournaments where only a player's largest qualifying stack carries forward, these events allow chips from multiple successful Day 1 flights to be combined for Day 2.

For example, a player qualifying with 150,000 chips in one flight and another 200,000 in a later flight could enter Day 2 with a combined 350,000-chip stack.

This provides an incentive to continue playing starting flights even after securing an initial qualification.

However, one important distinction applies:

No bounty rewards are awarded during Day 1.

Eliminating opponents in the starting flights helps players accumulate chips, but Mystery Bounties and Progressive Bounty payouts only become available during Day 2.

Every player also begins Day 2 with $0 in accumulated Progressive Bounty, regardless of how many qualifying stacks they have combined.

Players can therefore bring additional chips into the next stage, but nobody starts with an accumulated Progressive Bounty advantage.

Why the New Mystery PKO Format Could Change Tournament Strategy

The combination of hidden prizes and visible bounties adds an interesting strategic dimension to the later stages of these tournaments.

In traditional Mystery Bounty events, much of the excitement revolves around uncovering the biggest hidden prizes. Under ACR Poker's new structure, those prizes can continue influencing the action even after they have been revealed.

A player who collects several substantial Mystery Bounties could accumulate a particularly attractive Progressive Bounty.

Unlike the hidden mystery prizes, Progressive Bounties are visible to everyone at the table. This creates additional information for players to consider when evaluating knockout opportunities, particularly in situations involving shorter stacks and all-in decisions.

Of course, chasing a large bounty is not automatically profitable. Stack sizes, tournament equity, and the likelihood of securing an elimination remain important considerations.

Nevertheless, the format introduces another factor into those decisions. Players are not simply competing for unrevealed mystery prizes; they are also pursuing bounty value that has already been accumulated by their opponents.

That could make the November 1 bounty phase particularly interesting to follow.

When Is Day 2 of ACR Poker's Halloween Mystery PKOs?

All three tournaments follow the same general schedule:

  • October 18, 2026: Opening Day 1 flights

  • October 18 – November 1: Daily starting flights and qualification opportunities

  • November 1, 2026: Day 2 and the beginning of the bounty phase

The $109, $33, and $5.50 events each have their own Day 2 tournament and separate prize structure.

Importantly, the advertised guarantees of $500,000, $100,000, and $50,000 represent the overall tournament prize pools, not the value of their largest individual Mystery Bounties.

Players should check the ACR Poker tournament lobby for the remaining flight times, registration conditions, and exact Day 2 starting times.

Additional information about the new format is available in ACR Poker's official Halloween Mystery PKO announcement.

How to Join ACR Poker's Halloween Mystery PKOs

Players interested in taking part can find the Halloween Mystery PKO events directly in the ACR Poker client.

Open the tournament lobby, search for "Halloween", and select one of the available starting flights.

There are three buy-in levels:

  • $5.50 for the $50,000 guaranteed tournament

  • $33 for the $100,000 guaranteed tournament

  • $109 for the $500,000 guaranteed tournament

Qualifying through one flight does not necessarily mean the end of a player's Day 1 participation. Under the applicable entry conditions, additional successful flights can contribute more chips toward their November 1 starting stack.
