Crown Poker Club – WPTWC : Ngoc Anh Cao wins the Series Opener for ₫550M (~$22,140); Mystery Bounty turns up 109 entries, 14 to return
Star studded final table at the Crown Poker Club’s WPTC Series Opener concludes with Vietnamese pro Ngoc Anh Cao seizing the title and the ₫550,000,000 (~$22,140) first prize. Finishing as runner up was Hong Kong pro Raiden Kan while the day’s entering chip leader Huỳnh Ngọc Cường settled for 3rd place.
The Opener drew a field of 323 entries across three starting days with 40 players advancing to the final day. Day 1B chip leader Huỳnh Ngọc Cường carried in the largest stack and was well on his way to earning another local tournament victory after securing one of the final 9 seats. Joining him was Day 1C leader, one of Asia’s famed pros, Hong Kong’s Riaden Kan who has been attacking the Vietnamese felt since 2019. Back in 2018, Kan ran deep at the WSOP Colossus event, turning his $565 buy in into a five figure $35K payday. He is most well known for his victory at the 2011 Macau Poker Cup Main Event where he scored over $160K.
Also reaching the final table were local pros Huu Dung Nguyen who climbed from just 9 BB at the start of the day and Ngoc Anh Cao, considerably the most dangerous player in the round. Cao is decorated with victories and deep cashes with a recent win at the WPC-SEAPT Megastack event for over $23K. Once again, Cao proved his might and went the distance at the WPTC Series Opener for his second career win this year.
