11th Annual China Poker Games Championship ready for another record breaker in Sanya, Hainan Island, August 16 to 25
It’s that time of the year again, the annual China Poker Games (CPG) Championship! With each passing year, this festival serves as a magnet, drawing players from every corner of China and outside, all vying for a piece of the massive prize pools.
Within the realm of poker events, CPG Championship continues to reign in the region. Now entering its 11th year, its annual draw is unmatched, and its Main Event prize pool stands as the most enviable in all of Asia.
Taking a look back, in 2019, the CPG Sanya Championship Main Event prize pool soared to CNY 29,754,000 (~USD 4.17 Million). In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, the numbers dipped yet still produced an impressive CNY 25.475,500 (~USD 3.7M), which quickly bounced back up in 2022 to roughly USD 4.9 Million.
Early this year, CPG celebrated its 10th year anniversary. The Main Event attracted a jaw-dropping 4,406 entries for a prize pool of around USD 6.5 Million.
11th CPG Championship Finals
With those staggering figures and the pandemic behind us, this year’s 11th edition of CPG Championship is expected to be another chart buster. The upcoming games runs from from August 16 to 25, 2023 at the Howard Johnson Hotel Sanya, Hainan Island. A total of 56 events populate the ten-day schedule, listed down below are the key events.

This year’s Main Event champion will receive the one and only CPG 11th Anniversary Trophy. All participants will also receive a special CPG jacket and free dinner tickets. For players that reach the final table, each one will receive a 100 pieces chip set, to be mailed after the series.
