In 2008, the Asian Poker Tour made waves in the Philippines by becoming the first in the region to guarantee a one million USD Main Event prize pool. Australian David Saab won it for a whopping US$ 280,000. The following year, the APT outdid itself by amassing a seven figure Main Event prize pool of US$ 1.4 million in Macau. France’s Adrien Allain walked away with US$ 391K.

Fast forward to the present, and the APT is once again making headlines with the new owners, APT Events Private Limited, aiming to take the brand to greater heights. Early this year, the brand signed a five year sponsorship deal with Asia online platform Natural8, which was quickly followed by the announcement of a seven figure Main Event prize pool.
