Inaugural APPT Cambodia underway at NagaWorld Phnom Penh

DSC 6240

Off to a great start here at the first ever Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) festival in Cambodia! The opening deal was announced at 1pm with six tables quickly up and running for the NagaWorld Kickoff $50K GTD. If it keeps pace, we should see the guarantee easily breached. Among the players battling it out early are Korea’s Wanki Baik, Vietnam’s Kyle Bao Diep, Spain’s Richard Mari, Canada’s Eric Waylenko, Singapore’s Feng Zhao, Wu Jun Hao, India’s Raju Jaruplavath, and Monster Jam Poker Tour’s Marc Joseph. There’s still plenty of time to jump in with registration closing at 6:20pm.

For players that miss today’s flight, no fret as there are still two starters scheduled, both of them taking place tomorrow, November 4 at 1pm for Day 1B and 7pm for Day 1C (Turbo).

The inaugural APPT Cambodia is the tour’s second event of the calendar season and the second poker event to be held at the five star NagaWorld Integrated Resort Phnom Penh this year. Games will run from today November 3 through November 13 featuring 20 trophy events and a Main Event backed by a towering $400,000 guarantee. This figure is at par with the 2022 APPT Manila guarantee that saw its prize pool balloon well over double. Make sure to check the schedule for all the details.

For players visiting Cambodia for the first time, make your trip even more worthwhile by setting time aside to absorb the country’s rich culture. Within the capital city of Phnom Penh and outside are awe-inspiring temples and ruins such as the famous Angkor Wat that depict its moving history. Everything is also reasonably priced and most places take USD.
