GPI Asia: Transforming Poker in Taiwan Since 2018
GPI Asia, a product of Global Poker Index (GPI), debuted in 2018 at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) in Taipei City, Taiwan . As the first of its kind in the region, the festival merged four varied tournaments to create one big poker series.
The lineup of GPI Asia tournaments featured The Hendon Mob Championship (THMC), Global Poker League (GPL) Taiwan Tour Teams Event, Master Poker Series (MPS), and the CTP Alliance Cup. In addition, the GPI Asia festival served as a platform to commemorate leaders of the GPI Masterboard (Taiwan) for the year.
GPI Asia returned for a second time at CTP Club in May 2023. The most recent edition of the festival took place in late-December 2024 at the Jeju Landing Casino .

I fell in love with poker during the poker boom when I was 14 years old. My friends and I immediately started playing No Limit Texas Hold 'em sit-and-gos. When I turned 18, I began playing live cash games. Later, I dived into online multi-table tournaments, and following some success there, I ventured into live tournaments as well. Here at Somuchpoker, I write about my favourite game (the world’s most popular card game), including best poker moments, news, and the best online poker sites and deals.
