Congratulations on winning the RDPT 4-Player Team Event! How do you feel?

Very excited, still feeling very happy now, especially the emotions at the moment of the comeback.

What do you think of the tournament format on the second day?

Very good, the experience is also very fresh, this format gives anyone the possibility of a comeback.

Did you assign team members based on different tournament formats?

Yes, we arrange team members who are good at different formats to participate.

Do you have any memorable hands you would like to share with us?

It should be that hand where I went all-in with two-eight and survived, very thrilling and exciting, Texas Hold'em is all about the adrenaline rush.

How was your team formed? Did you all know each other or did one person recruit the others?

We are all Chinese living in Japan. We usually play poker together and have known each other for a long time, especially close with one of them. We think that when we come out to compete, we should compete and work hard together to create miracles.

Who came up with the team name, and what does it mean to you?

Because the captain's surname is Wang and has been living in Osaka, so we chose this team name.

What made you interested in playing this new 4-person game format?

We also often play team games, and we want to try out new formats.

What do you like about team competitions?

We can leverage individual strengths and unite as a team to aim for the championship.

How did you find out about RDPT?

RDPT is an international event with high visibility, and we came to participate in this competition.

Event Recap

After 132 players across 33 teams registered, this novel format two-day event started with two qualification rounds where 'The Army Of Destiny' was the first to secure a slot in the finals. Player Sijia Zhang racked up 17 KOs - one of several ways to advance to the final - before Round 1 even got to the final table. When asked how they managed it and what their team name stands for they said:

It was all luck! The name of the team, which we all came up with, The Army Of Destiny, wanted us to be the luckiest team, because we felt that playing poker was a matter of luck.

After seven more teams qualified, the Final 8 resumed play on Day 2 with every team having to compete in 3 different formats:

1. 8-handed SNG: 1 player per team.

2. Tag Team SNG: 2 players per team.

3. Heads-Up Elimination: 1 player per team.

'Team Osaka Mobile Unit' came from behind to win the first ever RD Expedition Club Four-Player Team Event.
