Red Dragon Championship

Following twelve levels of 40 minute gameplay, the first flight of the Red Dragon Championship Event wrapped up with Chen Weihang holding a commanding lead over the 103 Day 2 qualifiers. Chen finished the day with a smashing chip count of 625,000, with second in the running, Zheng Jian only stacking 365,000. A good start for the Tour, Day 1A racked up a total of 332 entries across registration and will follow with three more heats on schedule through Thursday, August 1st. All survivors will return to Day 2 for another ten levels of 60 minute blinds with approximately 15% of the field banking a share of the prize pool.

Mp Wu Chiayun opened the action and saw Zhang Zuoqun defend his big blind, revealing flop 3♠ 6♣ K♥ . Both players check it through to turn K♦ where Zhang led for 15,000. Pumping up the pressure as the day is about to close, Zhang moved all-in on river 2♣ and was surprised to see Wu snap call for his 67,500 behind. Zhang shows bluff 8♠ 4♣ right into Wu's K♠ K♣ , and exits the following hand.

Jin Xu Dong opened to 6,500 and went on to shove vs Ye Yipeng's 25,000 three bet. Ye calls off for his 58,500 behind and is crushed to see his opponent table the rockets. Board 4♦ 9♦ 6♦ 6d 3♦ was of no help to Ye, sending him out right on hand for hand play.

Action began with an all-in from Wang Shengyong for 19,000, followed two more and a final push from Yang Xudong, covering all three opponents. Board ran 5♣ 6♥ 9♣ K♦ J♠ with Yang's pocket pair landing a set for the pot.

Facing a late position open, Yang Qinghao stuffed his last 33,500 in and was in for a race after big blind Zheng Jie pushed likewise. Needing to catch up, Yang was crushed to see the turn 4♣ J♥ 3♦ K♥ 5♥ pair up his opponent for his elimination.

Button Dai Linghui opened the action and was met with a 16,500 three bet from small blind Yin Momo. Dai answered with another to 40,000 which left Yin to tank, fold.

Huang Peng opened to 6,500, called by the cutoff. Small blind Zhou Yiyu sent out a three bet to 22,000 and called off for his remaining 45,000 after Huang moved all-in. Dominated, Zhou headed for the rails just as the board 9♠ 2♠ 4♣ 5♣ T♥ turned up on the felt.

After eliminating Kwok Yuk Fung for a flip, Demus Patrik opened once more from utg and saw Wong Tin Lam defend his big blind. On board 9♠ 8♣ A♣ T♦ , Demus double barreled - 4,500 and 15,500 with Wong check calling both streets. River J♣ was checked to showdown, revealing Wong's T♥ 8♥ to be no good against Demus' rivered straight Kx Qx.

Wu Jianye opened to 5,000, called by the cutoff. Chan Wing Nam pushed all-in for 37,500 and faced initial raiser Wu's better ace high. At risk, Chan dodged elimination just as the board hit 3♣ 8♣ T♣ Q♠ 2♠ .

A blind vs blind back and forth saw Zhou Yibo push a final 68,000 in, called by Heng Qiao behind. Drawing to two outs, Heng was in luck as the board 6♦ T♠ 8♣ 4♦ 3♦ quickly gave him the advantage.

Utg Chen Chaopeng defended his open and called a 13,000 three bet from hijack Ye Yipeng. Both players checked flop 7♣ 7♥ T♥ through to turn J♥ . Chen led for 8,500 and called another raise to 26,500 from his opponent. On river 2♣ , Chen finally check folded after Ye sent out a hefty 49,500.

Small blind Celina Lin fired a 16,000 three bet vs button Ji Xiaqing's open and headed to flop Q♣ 6♠ A♣ . Lin continued for 11,000 and barreled another 25,000 on turn 2♥ after her opponent put in the call. Ji tanks and eventually gives it up.

Utg Kwong Yuk Fung opened to 4,000 and saw both players on the blinds come along on flop T♣ 2♦ 7♣ . Kwong continued for 6,000, called by both opponents. Turn 6♦ was checked all around, leading to river 7♠ . Kwong fires a final 29,000 and gets called by small blind Shicong Chen with J♠ T♠ . Kwong shows bluff A♣ Q♦ and slips down.

Lin Chung Tang opened and called off a 19,000 big blind jam from Kung Hsiang Chuan behind. While behind, Lin instantly flopped top pair on 6♠ 9♠ A♠ K♦ 5♥ to eventually knock his opponent out.

Tian Taimin opened the action, called by Wu Yingdi behind. Chen Wenwen stuffed her 49,500 stack in and saw Tian push as well for a lesser 48,000. Wu makes the final call and the three run the board 3♦ 4♥ 9♣ 6♥ 9♥ .

A smashing turnout was seen on the felt for the first flight of the Red Dragon Championship Event with 332 total entries recorded across registration. Three more flights will follow with Day 1B playing through tomorrow, July 31st. Today's action will conclude after the end of Level 12.

Another all-in preflop situation landed just before the break with Liu Jun all-in for his 79,000 stack with A♦ A♥ against Tan Junxiang's A♠ K♣ . A huge favorite, Liu cruised to victory as the board ran 3♥ J♦ 7♦ 6♦ Q♥ .

Facing an open and four more calls behind, big blind Guodong Sun put in a raise to 24,000 total. Only cutoff Fang Zhenlong continues to flop 5♠ J♠ 3♠ but immediately folded after Guodong moved all-in for the rest of his chips.

Zhang Yang opened to 3,200, called by two players behind. Wu Peng from the big blind raised a hefty 18,200 and shoved all-in after Zhang raised it even further to 65,000. Zhang makes the call and forks over half his stack after the board left him with ace high.

Another all-in preflop situation saw Lu Yuanjun in for his last 36,500 with A♦ Q♣ against his big stacked opponent's 8♠ 8♣ . In for a flip, the board 9♥ 3♠ 5♠ 3♦ T♦ spared none of his overcards, sending him out of the Main Event games.

Utg Zhang Yuhao defended his open and called a 12,000 three bet from Huang Shengdeng right behind. On flop 7♣ 3♦ 8♥ , Zhang check called for another 7,000 and proceeded to turn A♣ . Both check it through to river 2♠ where Zhang led for 19,000. Huang tanks and makes the call, only to muck after Zhang showed A♠ Q♥ .

Song Maolin opened to 2,400, called by a player behind. Qin Lin right behind, fired a three bet to 7,800 and went on to call 16,000 more after the initial raiser pushed all-in. Whilst dominated, Qin was spared from the loss after the board rolled Q♣ A♦ 6♠ 6♥ 5♣ .

With an open and a three bet in front of him, Sun Zeyu bumped it up further to 21,500 and called a cold five bet jam for 48,600 total from Wei Chao. Crushed against his opponent's premium pair, Sun booked the loss as the board ran 8♥ 7♥ 4♠ K♣ Q♠ .

Cutoff Yin Mo Mo opened the action and went on to four bet 22,600 against button Zhao Tingting's 7,600 raise. On flop 9♣ 3♣ 9♥ , Yin jammed 32,100 and collected a fold not long after.

Utg Su Shanhe opened to 2,500 and saw hijack Sun Jianfeng along with the big blind come along on flop A♥ 6♦ 9♦ . Checked to Sun, he bet 4,000 with only Su continuing to turn 3♥ . Sun fired another 13,500 and finally convinced Su to give it up.

An all-in situation ensued with Xie Yuxiang committing his 46,400 stack against Deng Yawei's overcards. In for a flip, the Q♠ 8♦ 7♥ 5♥ 4♣ ran safe for the pocket pair, allowing Xie to survive through.

Utg Lin Chien Yu opened and went on to four bet 10,000 vs Huang Shengdeng's 5,500 three bet. Both players checked flop 7♣ 4♥ 5♠ through, revealing turn 7♠ . Lin bet 7,500 and proceeded to jam her last 16,000 on river J♠ . Huang snap calls with J♥ 7♥ and scoops it up after Lin tabled A♥ A♠ .

Hijack Chen Chaopeng opened to 2,500 and saw button Ren Yaji call behind. On board 4♠ A♥ 2♥ 7♥ Q♦ , Chen barreled 3,500 and another 12,000, with Ren calling both streets. Chen checks the river and folds after Ren moved all-in.

Ka Tsz Yeung opened the action and was followed by a three bet from Jin Yunlong to 7,500. Lin Xinrui put in another raise to 26,500 and Ka calls for his 16,800 behind. Jin completes as well and the two check down board 6♦ Q♥ 6♣ 7♠ 2♠ . Ka's pocket pair holds for the win while Jin and Lin chop up the side pot.

Hijack Yang Manze opened to 2,000 and saw cutoff behind three bet to 5,500. Big blind Wang Bin and Yang make the call and head to board 3♣ A♦ Q♦ 9♦ 6♠ . Action is checked all the way to the river where Yang led out a 6,600 bet. Wang tanks and fires a check raise to 11,200. Yang gives it up and folds.

Facing an open and a call, Wang Guang pushed his 23,500 stack in and saw Xiao Shizi shove all-in. Both opponents get out of the way and the two run the board 8♣ T♠ 7♠ K♦ 4♠ . Wang's higher pair and lands a set and earns the double up.

Utg Wang Guang opened to 2,500, followed by a call, three bet, four bet and a final five bet to 36,000 from big blind Lyu Bo. Wang flicks in his 16,100 stack and is crushed to see his opponent table the rockets. Board ran 8♣ 9♦ 9♠ 2♣ 3♥ and Wang is eliminated.

An ace high battle saw Wu Luyao commit his 38,700 stack preflop with A♥ K♣ and is up against Ye Yipeng's A♣ Q♥ . Dominated, Ye forked over the 79 BB pot after the board 9♦ 3♥ 2♦ 9♣ 7♦ ran dry for either player.

A button vs small blind back and forth built a 26,500 pot and revealed flop 8♠ Q♠ K♥ . Zheng Jie led for 3,000 and called 13,500 more after Luan Haitao put in a raise. On turn K♠ , Zheng check called for his 20,300 behind with A♠ Q♣ and is crushed to see his opponent reveal A♥ A♦ . Luckily, the river 7♠ spared him from elimination, running him the nut flush to double through.

Up against an open and a call, button Lei Yang put in a raise to 6,500 and went on to jam his entire 54,000 stack after small blind Yuan Xinzhao cold three bet to 21,500. Yuan snap calls and shoots down after Lei tabled A♦ A♠ , crushing his A♥ K♣ all the way on 8♣ 4♠ J♥ 4♣ 5♣ .

Lei Yang opened to 1,800 and saw two players come along on flop K♥ A♦ K♣ . Lei continued for 2,200 and another 3,000 on turn 7♠ with big blind Huang Weiwei check calling both streets. On river 5♥ , Lei bet a final 9,000 and took the pot down.

Facing an open and two calls, big blind Hsu Chih Hua put in a raise to 7,000 and saw both callers continue to flop T♥ 3♥ T♠ . Hsu open shoved his big stack in and saw Zhou Yiyu call off for his 19,500 behind. Hsu shows K♦ K♠ and crushes Zhou's 9♥ 9♠ all the way to turn A♣ and river Q♠ .

A four way raised pot led by mp Wang Zhiyi saw flop 3♦ 6♣ 8♣ . Zhiyi continued for 3,000 and put in 5,500 more after big blind Wang Biao pulled a check raise. On turn 7♣ , Biao barreled another 12,000 and raked in the pot after Biao gave it up.

With only 5,000 in the middle on flop J♣ 3♠ 5♠ , action was seen on Yan Yixin bumping it up further to 40,000 after Pak Valeriy put in a raise to 13,000. Pak continues to turn 6♣ and flicks it in for Yan's last few big blinds behind. Yan shows 3♥ 5♥ , ahead of Pak's Q♠ Q♣ and scooped up the pot shortly after the river peeled 2♥ .

With 16,500 in the middle on flop A♣ Q♠ 2♦ , Huang Weiwei shoved 30,400 in and was called behind by Jieqong Hu. Way ahead, Huang secured the double up shortly after the runout revealed T♠ 2♥ .

A preflop back and forth saw button Zheng Bing call a five bet to 21,000 to see flop 3♥ 3♦ 6♥ . Hijack Liu Wenjie bet a hefty 35,000 and called the 16,200 more after Zheng moved all-in. Zheng shows flush draw A♥ 9♥ , against Liu's K♦ K♠ . Turn J♦ and river J♣ complete the board, sending Zheng out of the running.

Facing an open and a call, button Yao Yao fired a three bet to 4,300 and saw both opponents continue to flop 5♥ 9♠ 3♠ . Checked to Yao, he bet 3,200 and folded after initial raiser Jing Qixiang bumped it up to 10,000.

Utg Cheng Chi Hei Brian defended his open vs a 4,000 three bet from Chan Chih Sheng and saw board 5♣ 2♣ 2♥ 6♠ T♠ . Action was checked all the way to the river where Cheng led for 2,500. Chan calls and mucks after Cheng shows 7♠ 7♥ .

A four way raised pot saw flop A♣ 7♠ 6♠ . All players checked it through turn 4♣ where Ren Junjie led for 2,000. Button Liu Jinhui makes the call and calls for another 5,000 on river 4♣ . Ren shows A♦ A♠ and is no good against Liu's rivered straight 3♣ 5♣ .

Button Xiaosheng Zheng fired a 3,600 three bet vs an open and a call and saw initial raiser Kung Hsiang Chuan complete to see flop 7♠ 7♣ 4♣ . Kung check called for 3,500 and headed to turn 9♦ . Both players checked it through to river A♣ where Kung led for 7,500. Xiaosheng makes the call and rakes in the pot after tabling A♦ Q♣ , good against his opponent's K♥ Q♥ .

A preflop back and forth saw Yujie Sun five bet jam his 30,800 stack in and was called by Cheung Chung Ching. Both players tabled the same hand, and chopped it up with a straight on board J♠ 3♠ 3♦ T♥ K♥ .

Utg Hao Zhengshan opened to 1,200, called by two players. Big blind Chen Yingjie decided to bump it up to 7,000, with only Hao continuing through to flop 9♦ 5♣ T♠ . Chen led for 4,500 and barreled another 8,500 on turn 6♦ . Hao put in one bet but was unable to continue after Chen continued with aggression.

Small blind Zhang Chenxu opened to 1,200 and saw Jin Yunlong behind complete. On board A♣ T♠ 5♦ 3♠ 8♥ , Zhang check called all three streets - 800, 1,800, and 2,000 and tabled K♦ K♠ for the win.

Utg Yang Manze opened to 1,000 and called a 3,000 three bet from hijack Chen Peng. On board 3♣ 3♠ 8♣ 2♠ Q♥ , Yang check called two streets - 3,000 and 8,500, and got to showdown after river Q♥ was checked through. Yang shows Q♣ J♣ , sending Chen's T♦ T♣ swiftly into the muck.

A three way three bet pot led by small blind Kung Hsiang Chuan saw flop 3♠ 3♥ 9♠ . Kung continued for 4,000, called by utg raiser Jiang Chong. On turn 2♠ , Kung fired another 6,200 and picked up the pot after Jiang slipped his hand in the muck.

A five way raised pot led by Lei Yang rolled flop 2♥ 3♠ 3♥ . Lei continued for 3,000 and called the 5,000 more after big blind Huang Weiwei put in a raise. On turn Q♦ , Huang led for 14,000 and collected a fold shortly behind.

With 33,000 in the pot on board 8♥ 5♦ 7♦ 5♠ 3♥ , action was seen on Chan Chih Sheng with an all-in. Wang Haoxiang goes in the tank and calls off for his 25,300 behind with Q♠ Q♣ , only to be sent out after Chan revealed 8♦ 8♠ .

Utg Toeroek Krisztian opened the action and went on to four bet 9,600 vs hijack Wu Zhenyuan's 3,300 raise. On flop 9♥ 4♣ 9♠ , Toeroek led for 5,500 and proceeded to check turn 8♦ . Wu checks behind, revealing river 8♦ . Checked to Wu once more, he fired 11,000, and Toeroek tank folds.

After booking a loss against Toeroek Krisztian a few hands prior, Jin Siyu committed her last 16,200 and was called by Toeroek once more. Drawing slim, the flop 4♣ 9♦ 8♥ 6♠ 2♣ instantly put Jin ahead to eventually survive through.

Utg+1 Wang Zixun opened to 800 and saw three other players come along on flop K♦ T♦ T♥ . Wang continued for 1,500, called behind by Zhai Chang Yu along with the button. Turn came 7♣ and Zhai fired 7,000, check called by the raiser. Zhai barreled another 6,500 on river 8♠ and raked it in after Wang was unable to continue.

Cutoff Chen Peng defended his open and called a 2,600 three bet from Sei Aleksei behind. On flop 6♥ 4♣ 5♠ , Chen check raised to 5,500 vs Sei's 2,000 cbet and collected the pot after Sei put in the fold.

Utg Liu Chang opened to 700, called by Wang Shengyong behind. On board J♠ 7♦ 2♠ 4♥ 5♣ , Liu barreled two streets and went on to check the river down after Wang continued to call. Liu shows 5♥ 6♥ , no good against Wang's 6♦ 6♣ .

Facing an open and a call, big blind Wang Zixun raised it up to 1,600 and saw both players complete to see flop A♦ T♦ 2♠ . Original raiser Wu Long Sing bets 2,200, check called by Wang. On turn 8♦ , Wang folded and showed K♥ K♠ after Wu sent out another 3,500.

Cutoff Wu Zhenyuan defended his open and called a min three bet from Jin Lirui behind. On flop 9♦ 9♥ 8♥ , Wu check called for 1,000 yet gave it up after Jin barreled another 3,500 on turn 9♠ .

Cutoff Chen Yuen Tuan opened to 600 and saw two players come along on flop 3♥ 9♥ A♦ . Chen continues for 700, called by Xu Kai behind. On river 4♦ , Chen sent out another 2,600 and picked up the pot right after Xu made the fold.

A fourway raised pot headed to flop 7♣ 6♣ 9♥ . Action was checked to button Fan Sheng who fired 1,000. Big blind Wong Tin Lam makes the call and sees turn 3♥ . Both check it through to river K♣ . Wong leads for 1,000 and shows straight 4♠ 5♦ after Fan flicked in the green chip.

The first of four flights on schedule kicks off today, July 30th, and is geared to course through twelve 40 minute blind levels. Approximately 15% of the field will bank a share of the prize pool, running four days of action until the first RDPT champion is crowned.
