Winfred Yu Wins $20K 2-Day Super High Roller To Break $10 Million Live Time Earnings

Poker industry legend Winfred Yu took home the biggest champion's purse of the series with $285,300 after 48 of the best poker players from Asia and around the world ponied up the $20,000 buy-in which resulted in an $870,300 prize pool.

Bracelet winner Joseph Cheong and No.1 on the Polish all-time-money-list Wiktor Malinowski were in the lead at the end of Day 1, but neither of them made it to the final table. The money bubble burst when Weiwei Huang was all-in pre and Sai Ho Chiu and Jingxuan Zhu ganged up on him, checking to the river with both of them beating Huang's ace-seven.

Bracelet winner Weiran Pu and No. 5 on China's all time money list Xuan Tan were the most accomplished players on the final table that Yu had to go through to finally lift the trophy after being 3rd at the KPC Single Day High Roller back in November.

His big break came with three players left at the table when Bin Leng shoved 4M with T♥ 9♥ , then chip leader Zhu tried to isolate with A♥ 3♦ , but Yu called for his last 4.3M holding J♦ J♣ . The board ran all blanks with Yu entering the heads up as 7 to 5 favorite. The deciding hand of the heads up was a preflop all-in with Zhu holding K♥ Q♠ slightly covering Yu with 7♦ 7♣ and the board ran K♣ 6♥ 5♣ Q♣ 3♣ giving Yu running clubs for a flush that had Zhu left with 1BB.
