China's Shi Bei Chip Leads in Fourth and Final Opening Flight of APT Main Event
The fourth and final opening flight of the APT Main Event has wrapped up, with China’s Shi Bei topping the Flight D chip counts at 298,600 chips. This flight saw 135 entries (101 unique), with 64 players advancing to Day 2.
Pham Duy Anh trails closely behind Bei with a bagged stack of 220,000 chips, after consistently holding the chip lead until Bei surged ahead late in the day by besting new arrivals at his table. Former APT Super High Roller 8-Max Champion Thanisorn Saelor also earned his Day 2 seat with 178,200 chips, securing a spot in the top 10 for a shot at the massive VND 25,000,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Another former APT Super High Roller Champion, William Teoh, is advancing with a more challenging stack of 66,700 chips. Joining him in the uphill climb would be Thai TV host and former Main Event finalist Napat Chokejindachai (50,100) who has always been the bridesmaid but never the bride as far as APT final tables are concerned.
Meanwhile, Quang Huy Nguyen, currently ranked third on Vietnam's All-Time Money List, took a tough hit in the final six hands, losing a significant portion of his stack to Frenchman Francis Garson.
With all opening flights complete, the Main Event entries now total 753 (564 unique), though this number could still rise, as registration remains open until the start of Day 2. Currently, 292 players will advance to Day 2, with China's Jinlong Hu in the overall lead, holding a substantial 447,800 chips.

Anh Eager to Call Yang's All-in
Daniel Yang opened to 1,200 from the cut-off, and Ben Gur called from the button. With a massive stack in front of him, Pham Duy Anh had other plans and decided to three-bet to 25,300. Yang went into the tank, taking his time to think through his decision, while Gur and Anh waited patiently. After a long deliberation, Yang made the bold move to jam all-in for his tournament life.
Anh, eager to act, nearly called out of turn but was stopped by Gur, who playfully asked, "Are you going to call?" before stepping aside, knowing what was about to happen. Sure enough, Anh made the call.
Daniel Yang: 7♣ 7♠
Pham Duy Anh: T♦ T♣
The flop came down 9♣ A♠ 5♥ , keeping Anh in the lead and leaving Yang needing a miracle. The turn 3♦ and river K♣ failed to improve Yang's hand, and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Dhangwatnotai Aces Hold
Sakan Dhangwatnotai opened to 1,200 and found two callers, Anton Johnson in the small blind and Pham Duy Anh in the big blind.
The flop came down 2♣ 2♥ 7♦ , and both blinds checked, allowing Dhangwatnotai to continue for 2,400. Both players called, prompting Dhangwatnotai to shake his head in disbelief as they moved to the turn.
After the 9♥ landed on the turn, Johnson and Anh checked once more. Dhangwatnotai ramped up the pressure, betting 7,300. This time, only Johnson called, while Anh folded.
On the river 8♦ , Johnson checked again, and Dhangwatnotai fired one last barrel of 12,500. Johnson called, only to see Dhangwatnotai turn over A♥ A♠ . Shaking his head, Johnson mucked his hand, commenting, “I had pocket tens—what could I do?”

River Brings One Elimination for Woo
Wai Ching Chiang raised from middle position to 800, and Pham Duy Anh three-bet to 2,800 from the hijack, leaving 10,000 behind. Gukhwan Woo from the small blind and Chiang stuck around.
On a flop of A♦ 5♥ 6♦ , Woo fired 4,000, and Chiang tossed his cards into the muck. However, Anh threw his remaining two blue chips in the middle and shoved all in. Woo sanp-called.
Gukhwan Woo: K♦ 2♦
Pham Duy Anh: A♣ Q♠
Anh picked up the lead with a flopped pair of aces, and Woo received a flush draw. The dealer delivered a 3♥ on the turn, and Woo was still searching for a diamond. Fortunately for Woo, the river showed 7♦ , completing his flush and showing Anh out of the exit.

The action was picked up on the turn with a board rolling off J♠ 3♦ 4♠ 3♠ with around 9,500 chips in the middle. Jadsadakorn Chiahan checked the action from the small blind to Pham Duy Anh on the button, who fired out 3,000. Chaihan dropped in a call.
The A♦ came on the river, where Chaihan checked it over again, and Anh fired 15,000 this time. Chaihan snap-called.
Anh flipped Q♦ 9♥ for a bluff, and it was no match for two pair from Chaihan’s A♥ J♦ , leaving Anh cripped after this hand.
