Asia Poker Championship Da Nang underway at Dragon Poker Club – February 27 to March 5


Cards are flying in Da Nang, Vietnam with the Asia Poker Championship underway at the Dragon Poker Club. Produced by premier Korean poker organizer Korea Mind Game Members (KMGM), the weeklong series opened its doors today, February 27, and will run through March 5. This is KMGM’s first venture to the popular coastal destination, and as always, the brand aims high with ₫10 Billion (~$420,500) in prize pools guaranteed.

The flavor of the day is the Warm Up event. Halfway through late registration, 70 entries were recorded and climbing. Among those getting an early start were Teddy Pham, Trent Fechter, KMGM CEO Tiger Lee. There’s still plenty of time to sign up with registration closing at 9pm, at the start of Level 10. This is a one day event which means the first ever APC Da Nang champion will be crowned later this evening. Buy in is ₫8,800,000 (~$370). Starting stack is 25,000.

Dragon Poker Club

Today’s festivities also marks the first poker event to be held at the Dragon Poker Club. The brand new venue is KMGM’s first overseas room. It is large and spacious with 25 tables plus one livestream table. At this time, players can order beverages but the kitchen is still days from completion. Players can have food delivered.

For players still making their way to the venue, it is a 15-minute ride from the Da Nang International Airport. The APC offers free shuttle to DPC and to select hotels but only on select days so best to check if your hotel is in the list. In terms of currency, the venue only accepts the Vietnamese Dong so exchange at the airport to be sure to have cash on hand.
