Profile
Born in Shanghai, China, Celina Lin is widely regarded as one of the best poker players in Asia, and is a member of the Team Pokerstars Asia Pro.
Celina Lin’s first significant cash came from the APPT in 2007. But in 2008, her results gathered momentum as she started playing in the Macau Poker Cup. Lin managed two 2nd places, a 5th and a 1st in Macau Poker Cup side events that year. It wasn’t until July 2009 that she secured a career defining win, taking 1st place in the Red Dragon Main Event at the Macau Poker Cup. She took home over USD$50,000 for this win. After making numerous final tables on the Asian circuit through 2010 and 2011, Lin finally got her hands on a winners trophy once more in 2012, and remarkably, it was at the Red Dragon Main Event again making her the very first player to have won the event twice. She took home more than USD$110,000 for this result.
In 2013, Celina Lin exhibited her mastery of the game by winning HK$8,800 Event of the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) adding more than USD$27,000 to her live earnings. In 2016, Lin won another ACOP trophy in the Deepstack Event and earned USD$61,000. This cemented her claim to the title of “Queen of Asian Poker” by being the first player to win 2 ACOP trophies.
For much of her career, Lin has kept away from the bright lights of Las Vegas and chosen to stay close to her roots, touring the Asian circuit and becoming one of its stars. She did manage to pick up a WSOP cash in 2015, but seems mostly content with illuminating the Asian poker scene.
