WSOP 2026 Day 22 Recap: Justin Smith Wins Colossus, Aharoni Claims Big O as Negreanu Bags in $25K PLO
Day 22 of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas delivered three bracelets and saw Daniel Negreanu put himself in contention in the $25,000 PLO High Roller after firing a second bullet.
Bracelet Winners on Day 22

Justin Smith outlasted a staggering 16,269-entry field to win the $500 Colossus and its $550,000 top prize . Daniel Aharoni claimed his first bracelet in the $10,000 Big O Championship, banking a career-best score in the process. Eddie Blumenthal won Event #45: $2,500 Mixed Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo, defeating Nikolai Fal heads-up.
Event #47: $25,000 PLO High Roller - Day 1b

Day 1b drew 224 entries - more than twice Day 1a - taking the overall field to 329. Youness Barakat (1,675,000) leads the combined 83 Day 1b survivors, with Negreanu (789,000) seventh after rebounding strongly from a first-hand bust on his initial bullet. Richard Gryko (800,000) and Biao Ding (754,000) are also in the top ten. Day 2 begins at noon on June 17, with the 110 combined survivors from both flights playing together for the first time. Late registration remains open until approximately 2:15 p.m.

Eric Rodawig (1,865,000) is right behind, with Max Kruse (1,505,000) and Philip Sternheimer (1,380,000) also in contention. All eight are guaranteed at least $36,395, with $357,026 going to the winner. The final day begins on June 17.

Day 1b drew another massive crowd with bracelet winners Carol Fuchs (240,000), Farzad Bonyadi (229,000), and David Bach (115,000) among the survivors. Day 2a cut the 795 Day 1a returners to 105 players, led by Adam Agaev (2,190,000). Matt Glantz (625,000) and John Wasnock (410,000) are also through. The combined Day 3 fires on June 18 at 11:00 a.m.
Event #49: $2,500 Freezeout - Day 1
A field of 1,561 was cut to 274. James Goldblatt (780,000) leads, with bracelet winners Tom Hall (635,000) and Faraz Jaka (482,000) among the notable survivors. Day 2 begins at 1:00 p.m. on June 17.
What’s Coming on Day 23 of WSOP 2026
Just one bracelet on June 17 - the $10,000 Razz Championship final eight. The $25,000 PLO High Roller Day 2 combines both flights at noon, and the $2,500 Freezeout Day 2 fires at 1:00 p.m. The Seniors Championship Day 2b begins at 11:00 a.m. Two new events debut: Event #51: $10,000 Mystery Bounty (noon) and Event #52: $3,000 9-Game (2:00 p.m.). The Millionaire Maker also kicks off its first flight at 10:00 a.m.
