HON CHEONG “IVAN” LEE ships the Super High Roller

Hon Cheong Lee aka Ivan Lee lifted his career first WPT title and it couldn’t have been more glorious than taking down the Super High Roller event. Lee topped a stellar field of fellow pros that included multi decorated Michael Soyza and hottest running Asian player today, Thailand’s Punnat Punsri. For his achievement, Lee locked up the NT$ 2,944,000 (~$95,187) top prize and a trophy for his collection. The NT$ 200K buy in Super High Roller event was a two-day affair with 33 players and 14 re-entries for a total prize pool of NT$ 8,662,100 (~$280,060). Entering the final day, 14 players returned with Hamish Crawshaw at the helm however he could not turn it into cash. Same as well for Natalie Teh. Both players reached the final table but fell short.

The first to the money was Soyza in 7th place followed by the last two locals hoping to seal the win for Taiwan. The remaining four players were hunting down their first WPT title. For Punsri, he had just returned from cashing at the WSOPE Main Event and was looking for redemption. However, it was not to be, settling instead for 3rd place while Lee went on to defeat Seung Hun Ko to capture his first live tournament title of the year.
