China’s Xiaosheng Zheng emerged victorious in the Season 24 WPT Cambodia Championship, topping a field of 425 entries to secure his place on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.
The Championship Event unfolded across five days of play, with multiple starting flights funneling the field down to its final table. Each of the last six players had locked up at least $63,000, while the title and the largest prizes remained in play.
Zheng ultimately defeated Ireland’s Micheal O’Neill heads-up. An ICM deal was agreed before heads-up play began, resulting in O’Neill collecting the largest payout of $249,700, while Zheng earned $244,500 along with the trophy and official victory.
