WPT Cambodia Day 8: Kishimoto Wins Mystery Bounty, Park Claims Third Trophy as Championship Event Begins Today
The WPT Cambodia Passport to the World Championship 2026 has reached its peak, with the Championship Event starting today. But before the biggest event of the series gets underway, the previous day produced plenty of stories of its own.
From Kaoru Kishimoto making an immediate impact on his first day to NagaWorld , to Hyunkyou Park collecting his third WPT trophy, Linh Tran finally breaking through, and Dakota Anderson turning another deep run into a title, there was plenty happening across the tables.
Kishimoto Makes Immediate Impact

Kaoru Kishimoto has only just arrived at WPT Cambodia, but he certainly did not waste any time getting involved.
The newcomer jumped straight into a Mystery Bounty Day 1 flight, made it through to Day 2 and eventually took down the title, outlasting a 197-entry field.
The event featured a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool and narrowly surpassed it, generating $151,296 in total prizes. Kishimoto collected the trophy, the $19,121 top prize and five bounties worth a combined $5,500, giving him a total haul of $24,621.
Not a bad way to introduce yourself to NagaWorld.

Two $10,000 Bounties Pulled

The WPT Cambodia Mystery Bounty also produced two players who found the biggest bounty available.
Artem Shkarpitko was the first to pull the $10,000 top bounty, while Haruto Murata later matched him. Murata, however, had an even bigger overall bounty haul. He collected four bounties, including the $10,000 top bounty, a $5,000 bounty and two $1,000 bounties for $17,000 in total bounties.
Murata also finished third for $9,100, giving Murata $26,100 in total earnings and making him the biggest earner of the event.
Park Already Has Three Trophies

If there is one player who continues to stand out throughout this series, it is Hyunkyou Park .
Park added another trophy yesterday by winning Event #38 1K Hyper Turbo, bringing his total to three trophies at WPT Cambodia. His first came on the opening day when he won Event #3 6-Max Megastack Turbo . He then followed it with another victory in Event #23 NLH before adding the Hyper Turbo title.
Somuchpoker also had the chance to interview Park earlier in the series, where he claimed about always being lucky at NagaWorld and said that was one of the reasons he keeps coming back.
So far, he has certainly backed up those words. With five days still remaining, Park now has a new target in front of him: can he somehow find a way to make it four trophies?
Tran Finally Gets His Trophy

Linh Tran also had something to celebrate after taking down the 3K Single Day High Roller Challenge . The event attracted just three players, but Tran made the most of the opportunity and claimed the trophy along with the $8,003 top prize.
The victory was particularly satisfying after his runner-up finish in the Event #28 Survivor 4K Bounty High Roller . This time, Tran went one step further and finally got his hands on a trophy.

Anderson Finally Breaks Through

Dakota Anderson also ended the day with a trophy after another deep run at the series. After reaching two final tables earlier in the festival, Anderson finally converted one of those deep runs into a victory by taking down Event #35 Superstack Action Clock Bounty .
The event drew 49 entries, with Anderson earning the $4,284 top prize. He also collected 10 bounties, with six of them coming during the final table. That added another $1,500, bringing his total haul to $5,784.
