World Poker Tour Announces Full Schedule for WPT Macau Main Tour Stop
Poker enthusiasts in the Asia-Pacific region can look forward to another World Poker Tour Main Tour as the brand heads to Macau this summer. Running from June 18 to 24, the 2024 WPT Macau Championship takes place at the Wynn Palace Cotai. In partnership with Allied Gaming & Entertainment (AGAE), the anticipated schedule has now been released with 12 events featured.
WPT Macau Championship Event
Headline tournament of the series is the WPT Macau Championship Event, in which the winner will see their name engraved on the iconic Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup. It comes with a buy-in of HK$ 40,000 (~USD 5,100). Two starting days are available on June 20 and 21 with the winner to be crowned on the final day of the series on June 24.
If you haven’t yet experienced a WPT Main Tour, it is a deep structured tournament, highly praised by players worldwide. Each Day 1 and Day 2 features a level duration of 60 minutes before the levels go up to 90 minutes for the remainder of the tournament until the heads-up stage where it drops to 45 minute blinds. The usual deep structure with 50,000 in chips awaits for this WPT Main Tour stop.
WPT Macau – High Roller Events
High Rollers will find several top-notch events lined up. On opening day is the two-day Mini High Roller, which comes with a price tag of HK$ 50,000 (~USD 6,385) and 40-minute levels. Event runs June 18 to 19.
This is followed by the most expensive tournament on the schedule, the HK$ 200,000 (∼USD 25,500) Super High Roller, which runs from June 19 to 20 and will certainly attract some of the heavyweights in the Asian poker scene. A mighty starting stack of 250,000 in chips and 40 minute levels on the first day provide plenty of wiggle room to make some moves.
The two-day High Roller bookends the festival which comes with a price tag of HK$ 100,000 (~USD 12,770). The registration remains open for the first level of the final day.
WPT Macau – Other Events
Aside from the big buy in tournaments listed above are events for as low as HK$ 5,000 (~USD 640) and running up to the Hyper Turbo HK$ 25,000 (~USD 3,190). The bargain HK$ 8,000 (~USD 1,020)SuperStack Event kicks off on opening day. Those fancying their luck can also try one of the HK$ 560 (~USD 71) Single Hand Flips for the HK$ 5,600 (~USD 715) Milestone Satellites as well.
All tournaments on the schedule are held in the Hold’em format various iterations on level duration available. There is also a Shootout Event with a price tag of HK$ 5,000 available for single table specialists on June 22. Furthermore, the hunt for knockouts follows one day later with Event #9 HK$ 11,000 (~USD 1,400) Big Bounty in which HK$ 5,000 (~USD 640) each go towards the cash and bounty prize pool. Other events on the list are the Turbo Freezeout, Megastack Single Day, concludingwith a HK$ 5,000 (~USD 640) DeepStack Turbo Closer.
