William Ysmael Bags A Monster At Manila Megastack 19 Main Event; 80 Players Advance
Poker festivals are in full swing all over Asia, and in the Philippines, cards have been flying at the world class Okada Manila since September 19, 2024. Under the spotlight is the Manila Megastack 19, which for the past three days, September 25-27, ran all four of its Main Event entry flights. With a buy in of PHP 45,000 (~US$ 800), the highlight event attracted a total of 521 entries. This was enough to edge past the advertised PHP 20 Million guarantee.

Out of the 521 entries, 80 players advanced to the ITM round / Day 2. The locals dominated in numbers however they made up only 20 percent of the qualifiers. At Flight C, local pro William Ysmael bagged a massive stack worth 755,000 (188 bb) for a commanding lead when action resumes. Grinding steadily all day, Ysmael experienced a late game surge to catapult to the top.
Also making the cut were Manila Megastack champions Terry Gonzaga and Euryd Rivera. Both players have already picked a spadie at the ongoing series and are well oiled to bring home the big one. Up and coming Filipino player Vivencio Nachor closed out Flight B at the helm and as seen in the past, he will be a crowd favorite. Last July, Nachor shipped the APPT National for over $50K.

Main Event Day 2 begins at 1pm tomorrow with blinds at 2000-4000 ante 4000. The remaining 80 players are guaranteed PHP 72,000 (~US$ 1,285) while awaiting the eventual winner is PHP 3,740,000 (~US$ 66,750) which includes a package worth PHP 200,000 to the APPT Championship later this month. The second place will also receive a package on top of the winnings.
