Halloween Deepstack Special

On opening day, four trophy events kicked off the festival, setting a lively tone from the start. Since it coincided with Halloween, the atmosphere was extra festive as some players arrived in costume for the Halloween Deepstack Special including the 2025 WSOP High Roller 50K champion Khoi Le Nguyen (bottom 3rd from left) as Scotty Nguyen? Other notables at the scene were avid Vietnam circuit regulars Erik Rozhynskyi, Angela Vasylenko, Nguyen Quang Huy, Khayyal Abbasov, and Ashish Munot.
VPT Championship II – Main Event

Building from the massive success of its debut , at the center stands the Main Event, now carrying a ₫20 billion (~US$ 770,000) guarantee, ₫5 billion richer than last season’s promise. It’s a bold leap that speaks not only to the growing appetite for live poker in Vietnam but also to VPT’s intent to revitalize the country’s live tournament scene with a safe, transparent, world-class experience.
Last April, the prize pool surged over ₫21BN with China’s Yankai Zhang crowned the first-ever champion and pocketed a career-high VN₫ 3.72 Billion (~US$ 143K). He defeated Do Tien Vu who was already seen getting in some practice on opening day. Amit Kaushik has also been spotted, he finished 6th. Other expected players are David Erquiaga, Xin Yuan, Tien Thanh Pham, all three players finished 3rd, 4th, 5th respectively and are regulars in the Vietnam circuit.

Phu Quoc Island Easy Access
Phu Quoc Island is accessible from many countries. Geographically, it sits just off the southern tip of Vietnam on the Gulf of Thailand making it a short hop from Vietnam cities Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Hai Phong.

For international travelers, Phu Quoc is very close to Cambodia that sometimes cell signals bounce from both countries. With Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand also very closeby, direct flights are available from the major cities to Phu Quoc International Airport. There are also direct flights for players coming from Hong Kong, Taipei, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Seoul, and Busan. Players coming from other destinations such as the Philippines, India, Macau, Japan, will have to connect through other ports. For players in Vietnam and Cambodia, there is also the option of traveling by land and then taking the ferry to the island.
Corona Resort & Other Activities

Once you’ve arrived at the airport, the best way to get to Corona Resort & Casino is via taxi. VPT recommends downloading the app “Xanh SM”.
If it is your first time visiting Corona, this is one of the country’s most prestigious gaming venues, and it stands out as the first casino to allow local Vietnamese players to participate. The casino offers a variety of gaming options, including poker, which has gained popularity among both local and international players.

While poker is the main reason to be at VPT Championship II, players will find plenty of ways to unwind beyond the felt. From the pristine beaches and luxury resorts of Phu Quoc Island to island excursions, even golf and pickleball – there’s no shortage of enjoyment during one’s stay.
