Christoph Vogelsang Wins Third Triton Title After Montenegro Deal
Triton Montenegro 2026 continued its remarkable run for German players as Christoph Vogelsang captured his third Triton Poker title in Event #9: $50,000 NLH 7-Handed .
The German high roller secured $1,037,858 following a three-way ICM deal at the Maestral Resort & Casino in Przno, Montenegro , adding another seven-figure result to one of poker’s most consistent careers.
The victory followed earlier Montenegro titles for fellow Germans Fedor Holz and Chris Nguyen , continuing a dominant series for German-speaking players on the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series .

Another Seven-Figure Score for Vogelsang
Vogelsang’s latest triumph came in a 118-entry field that generated a $5,900,000 prize pool. The event ran alongside the closing stages of the record-breaking Triton Invitational , but still pulled in another elite lineup.
For Vogelsang, deep runs in these fields have become familiar territory.
The 40-year-old already owns a Triton Main Event title and has spent years among the most respected high-stakes tournament players in the world. This latest result also pulled him closer to Holz at the top of Germany’s all-time money list.
The final three players agreed to an ICM deal involving Vogelsang, Thomas Muehloecker , and Leonard Maue . Muehloecker locked up the biggest payout from the deal, but Vogelsang claimed the trophy after eliminating both opponents.
A Fast Money Bubble

Day 2 resumed with 23 players remaining and only 20 places paid. The bubble period disappeared quickly after several major confrontations played out almost immediately.
Igor Yaroshevskyy fell after his ace-king lost to Bryn Kenney ‘s ace-queen, while Jamil Wakil ran pocket kings into aces. Soon after, Cong Pham became the stone bubble when Maue’s queen-deuce flopped two pair against ace-nine.
With the money secured, the tournament quickly shifted gears. The final two tables moved into the main tournament room while the Triton Invitational final table played nearby.
Vogelsang Finds His Spot

The final seven returned with relatively even stacks after the blinds were rolled back to create a deeper average stack. Kayhan Mokri led the way, with Vogelsang close behind.
Wang Ye became the first player out after running ace-king into Alex Theologis ‘ pocket queens. Vogelsang then surged after winning a key flip with ace-king against Kenney’s pocket nines.
Muehloecker gathered steam from there, eliminating Mokri before knocking out Kenney in another flip. He then dispatched Theologis to take the lead into three-handed play.
At that point, the remaining trio paused the tournament to discuss numbers with tournament director Luca Vivaldi. They reached an ICM agreement, leaving $100,000 and the trophy still to play for.
Vogelsang Closes It Out at Triton Montenegro

After the deal, Vogelsang immediately took control.
He first moved ahead after shoving ace-five over Muehloecker’s king-jack open. An ace on the board sealed the hand and sent Muehloecker out in third place.
One hand later, the tournament was over.
Vogelsang limped from the small blind holding king-five before Maue moved all in with ace-queen. Vogelsang needed help and found it on the flop when a king appeared.
The board ran out clean, giving Vogelsang the title and another major result in Montenegro.
While much of the attention inside the room focused on the conclusion of the Triton Invitational nearby, Vogelsang quietly produced another composed performance, exactly the type of run that has defined his career for more than a decade.
