Quan Zhou Claims $25K Jupiter, Jon Vallinas Back-To-Back Runner Up

China’s Zhou is on fire at the Triton Poker Series. On Thursday, he powered through a stacked $25,000 NLH Jupiter field to claim the title and $1,303,000, once again standing in the way of Spain’s Jon Vallinas , who fell short for the second time in a week.

The final table was loaded with talent. Alongside Zhou, Chinese pro Kuisong Wu was in contention, while Vallinas returned after finishing runner-up in the Triton ONE 2026 Main Event , looking for redemption. Other players included Canada’s Jamil Wakil , France’s Jean-Noel Thorel , Brazil’s Kelvin Kerber and Pedro Padilha , Lithuania’s Paulius Vaitiekunas , and Triton ambassador Mario Mosbock , all vying for a share of the $6.55 million prize pool.

The heads-up matchup was a familiar scene for Vallinas, who has now twice fallen short in Jeju finals. Despite nearly $2.5 million in cashes on this trip, the elusive first Triton trophy continues to slip away.

Zhou took control after winning a massive pot against Wakil, who eventually finished third. From that point, he dictated the pace, steadily building a lead Vallinas could not overcome. Known as The King” in Chinese poker circles, Zhou’s experience carried him to a second Triton victory, adding a No-Limit Hold’em title to the Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) win he captured at Jeju in 2024.

After a commanding performance at the final table, Zhou collected his trophy, reflecting on his return to Jeju and the thrill of competing at the highest level. He also brought several students along, giving them a firsthand look at top-tier tournament poker.

I’m very happy to be playing here again. The players, the stage, the exposure, it’s one of the biggest stages in the world.

With this victory, Zhou pushes his Triton series earnings close to $6.5 million, reinforcing his status as one of the most consistent forces in high-stakes poker today.

China’s Chen made a name for himself on Thursday at the Triton Poker Series, outlasting a 172-entry field in the $30,000 NLH event to take home $1,143,000. The 32-year-old from Wuhan had been steadily building experience on Triton events since his debut last year, and Thursday he showed why he’s a player to watch.

After navigating a tense final table and overcoming a series of short-stack double-ups, Chen finally secured his first Triton title.

I am lost for words. I’m just very happy, very excited and very moved. I have always looked forward to holding a Triton trophy, and now here I am holding one. I am very proud.

The final table tested Chen’s skill and composure at every turn. Starting as chip leader, he saw his stack dip early as other players scored short-stack double-ups, but he stayed calm and steadily rebuilt his position. Poker legend Patrik Antonius was eliminated in seventh place, followed by back-to-back hopeful Aren Bezhanyan in fifth, both falling to Chen’s precise play.

When only three players remained, he maneuvered his chips with precision, outlasting Triton Ambassador Daniel “Danny” Tang in third before facing Japan’s Changhwan Lee heads-up with a commanding 5-to-1 chip lead. In the decisive duel, Chen held firm and executed the hands that secured his first Triton trophy and dedicating the win to his wife, Lesley, while thanking family and friends for their support.

After compatriot Zhou’s earlier $25,000 Jupiter win, Chen’s triumph capped a memorable day for China at Jeju and announced him as one of the nation’s rising high-stakes stars.
